Feelin’ sorry for yo’self
Never put a trophy on the shelf.
Self-pity and markin’ time
Never rang the vict’ry chimes.

Rhythmic and real, the message and delivery of this poem speaks across generations.

Pig Candy: Taking My Father South, Taking My Father Home–A Memoir

By • Jul 29th, 2008 • Category: Book Review

This is a worthy read, well-written and well researched of Jasper County’s geographical, economical and social/racial history. I recommend for those who enjoy memoirs that delve into the intricacies of familial relationship, especially fathers and daughters.

As they became older, the maturity was evident in their behaviors and the manner in which they spoke. Every time I thought I knew where the plot [...]

Between the Sheets–Guess That Plot

By • Jul 28th, 2008 • Category: APOOO Features, Between The Sheets

But, as with anything she writes, she did the genre well. She gave me some hot, between the sheets, bump and grind sex scenes. But, she also gave me well-developed characters, smooth pacing, twists and turns and dayum good writing! Oh and several messages too boot!

True to the Game III by Terri Woods

By • Jul 28th, 2008 • Category: Book Review

True to the Game III was a fast-paced, action-packed read. There is a little work needed in character development as it seems the author wrote this for readers who have read the first two parts.
