Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey

Do you want to know how men really think? Well if so, then Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man by Steve Harvey will answer your questions. Steve gives women a “no holds bar” approach into the mind of a man. He tackles the needs of a man…support, loyalty, and THE COOKIE; the 90-day sex rule; how to get the ring; and how men’s love is different from women’s love. Women are nurturers by nature. That is not how men roll. But that does not discount the fact that he may love you. Steve states (and I love it) “A man who is in love with you is probably not going to call you every half hour and give you an update on how much more he loves you at 5:30 PM than he did at 5:00 PM.” He also takes a look into how women present themselves. Independent women have to make sure they do not leave the role of men out of their lives. You have to still remember to be a lady and that a man must feel needed. Women must have standards and requirements. Steve lets women know that the ball is in their court. Men cannot do to women something they do not allow. Set the standards and stick to them.

Simply put…this one is a winner. If you enjoy the Strawberry letters on “The Steve Harvey Morning” show you will definitely enjoy this book. Steve takes it to another level and breaks it all down until it cannot be broken down any more. Do not waste your time talking to your girlfriends and trying to figure out why he did what he did. You need to pick up this book and read it straight from the horses mouth. Now is this the end all, be all? NO. But it is great insight. I recommend to women who want to know what goes on in men’s heads.

  2. I browsed a friend’s copy and have to say I thought the advice was very solid. Really…a girl’s gotta have a leg up with us out numbering the men this way. One of my best friends is a man and he keeps me so grounded about stuff in relationships. Has for 25 yrs. He also helped me to see without his even knowing it, that my marriage was really over. When I’m talking to a woman with man problems, I can always tell whether or not she has any male friends by what she says and the “why” questions she asks. I think this book would benefit alot of women.

And yes, he was a scream on Oprah.

  3. Great review! I saw him on Oprah too and loved it. The reviews on Amazon are all over the place on this book. I was reading the comments and was very disappointed that some people just didn’t get it. People aren’t taking this book for what it’s worth. But I’m glad he wrote it and will be getting a copy. Plus, I gotta support my fellow Clevelander…lol

  4. Darnetta I think Steve is very polarizing…either you like him or you don’t…as for me there are just some books I refuse to buy and books on these type of themes are one of them. Even if someone gave me this book (which they did) I would give it away…lol. Just not my cup of tea. (I had a lot to say about this book on my Facebook page…hehe).

  5. I have a male friend who read it and said he is making his daughter read it. He also told me that I should read it. I think I am getting this for my daughter. She needs to read what a man has to say about what a man does and her dad is too busy being her BFF.
