  1. I’m linking to this list on Tuesday. :)

Carleen´s last blog post..Links and stuff

  2. Thanks Carleen…much appreciated!

  3. Books I read from the list so far (this year…hehe):
    Basketball Jones- E. Lynn Harris–Just when I thought I had escaped Basil…he made a cameo appearance…sigh.

The Bishop’s Daughter by Tiffany Warren–Cute, delightful read.

The Black Girl Next Door by Jennifer Baszile–reading now; I’ve been attempting to read this book for like two weeks now. Just not feeling it but it’s a challenge book so I will continue to try.

Bring on the Blessings- Beverly Jenkins–nice history lesson.

The Company We Keep by Mary Monroe–sisterfriend read; antics were very juvenile.

Deadly Charm by Claudia Mair Burney–I probably should have read the first two books in the series before reading this one.

Illusions by Wanda Campbell–Very good storyline about pornography in the pulpit and the church.

The List by Sherri Lewis–We have our list…but I wonder what brother’s have on their list…are we as perfect as we expect our mate to be…QQ. ;)

The Someday List by Stacy Hawkins Adams–In My Top 3 so far!

That Devil’s No Friend of Mine by J. D. Mason–APOOO March BOM; yes I recommend it.

The Ties that Bind- Bertice Berry–no new grounds cover.

Too Much of a Good Thing by Kimberla Lawson Roby–Curtis Black’s daughter is exactly what I expected her to be…rotten to the core.

    Triangular Road- Paule Marshall–interesting read.

Up to No Good by Carl Weber–Started off strong; but the drama was ova da top for me.

What Doesn’t Kill You by DeBerry & Grant–Very Timely Read.

Where There’s Smoke by Terra Little–Excellent portrayal of a black man trying to do the right thing.

  4. I want to read this one: Two Rivers by T. Greenwood

  5. Have read:
The Ultimate NO NO by Tamika Newhouse – fast-paced and drama filled; very entertaining
Go, Tell Michelle – raw emotions and almost like a support system for the First Lady.

What Doesn’t Kill You by DeBerry & Grant – so far so good
That Devil’s No Friend Of Mine by J.D. Mason – so far so good

    Jennifer C´s last blog post..Library

  6. Hi Yas:

You know what my stance is on the latest offerings in AA “literature;” so no surprise here, I’ve only read:

The After Wife by Lexi Davis – will finish today — cute, enjoyable read!
That Devil’s No Friend of Mine by J. D. Mason – you saw my review
The Ties that Bind- Bertice Berry – ditto on the review

plans to read this week: Life Is Short But Wide by J. California Cooper (my local club’s May BOM choice) — I hope it’s good…

  7. Jennifer–glad you’re enjoying Mason and DeBerry and Grant’s books.

Phyllis–yes and sadly I agree with you regarding the terrian for AA ‘lit’…sigh. I need to order a copy of The After Wife and I’ll wait to hear feedback on Life is Short before picking it up; I wasn’t pleased with the last couple of Cooper books. :(

  8. Hey
    From this list I’[ve read
The Bishop’s daughter – I liked it, A different twist on boy meets girl.
Bring on the Blessings – I liked the concept of the book, A city made up of foster parents and children.
Illusions – Well atleast the pastor was not creeping with one of the members. I masterbation that prominent in our churches.
The List – cute read, but it did have a lot of points to ponder. I know it made me stop and think
Up to no Good – Classic Carl Weber, a lot of drama
What Does Not Kill You – I liked, Iike stories were the main character reinvents herself.
The Best of Everything – I thought I had a shopping addiction, but it’s just a impulsive shopping thing. I could never be as bad as Alicia.
