Any ANTM fans?

Hey good peoples and happy Wednesday.
APOOO wants to know if there are any ANTM fans in our midst?
I just have one question and I would like your point-of-view (POV).
Is ANTM exploiting Isis King or does he/she seriously have a chance of winning ANTM?
I am a little torn about this. I understand that King identifies himself as transgender. But…hmmm imagine–like on ANTM–we are all living together…sometimes sleeping together in the same bed…I ain’t trying to wake up feeling a guy’s boner who ain’t my man…or comfortable walking casually under dressed around each other and I am going to do all this among strangers in close quarters but now you have added a stranger who for intents and purposes is still a MAN…and I am supposed to be okay with it…because I want to win $100k and a top model contract? Okay…that put it all in perspective right…lol…I just need to go with the flow. Is that the ticket?
I am as liberal as they come…but honestly…I do not find Isis very attractive…maybe it is because she/he still needs some extensive dental work. Also…last week’s swimsuit shoot…HORRIBLE…he/she didn’t look or feel comfortable and I felt uncomfortable washing he/she adjust himself.
I guess you can tell I am not quite feeling King…pretty obvious huh…and I am trying to figure out why since I have been to drag queen pageants and have seen some BEAUTIFUL QUEENS that put beautiful divas/women to shame. Hmmm I think I just answered my own question…I do not find King beautiful or very photogenic.

UPDATE: Was just over at the ANTM site and found out that tonight’s show is going to be very different. If you want to know…CLICK HERE and then come back and tell me what you think. They are doing the runway challenge tonight…ooo…and it is so different vs. anything they have done before. I hope nobody hurts themselves…and oh that challenge…it is going to be on and popping…somebody is… xxxxx xxxx for real! I like it…it was time for a change…but hmmm I hope no one gets hurt!

Ok.. I am a fan.. I understand why Isis was chosen but he/she is not very attractive (agree he/she needs dental work). In the beginning, one of the other models, who has been voted off, express her concerns about him/her being in the show and having to undress in the same room. Everyone else was very quiet on the subject. I haven’t seen him/her take a nice photo yet.. they all look like a deer stuck in headlights.
The swim suit photo .. really bad.. I thought he/she was going to be gone. Tonight show will be a toss up. There are a couple that I am not seeing as models for anything and to be blindfolded.. FUNNY…. personally I am waiting for the chick from NY that looks like Kimora but acts like Little Kim to knock someone out or be booted out .. ..
I try to tune in weekly to watch. I’m abit on the fence with whether or not they are using her as well. As Afiya pointed out, ratings could very well be the rationale for them having Isis on the show. But Tyra likes being controversial also, so she could be using this as an opportunity to enlighten people, that transgenders are amongst us and deserve an equal opportunity as well. Realistically, I don’t think Isis will win. There are a few other girls on the show that really have the knack for modeling. But I’m sure Isis will win some additional exposure for this opportunity, just as some of the other past season contestants have gotten additional exposure from the appearance on this show.

Laughing…yep it will definitey be more exposure for Isis. I agree there are other girls who are more photogenic than Isis.
Tira will do just about anything to keep her show fresh, trendy and on the air. Ratings are everything and millions will tune in to goggle the shim. I don’t think he/she is attractive, too skinny and just not cute. As far as sleeping in close quarters, she/he thinks he is a woman so I don’t see a problem.

Okay when I realized that a transgender would be on the show at first I was like well that’s cool, but then I thought about what the show was. AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. It clearly is for WOMEN. I get that Isis is living as a woman, but technically she isn’t a woman and I think because of that fact she shouldn’t have been allowed to continue. If she was full woman then yes, that would be different, but what’s to stop next season from a man simply wanting to do it to be around all of those women?
Last season Isis outshined the person’s whose photo she was in, so far this season she has not impressed me and has me a little worried about her. She’s apparently never really had to deal with a lot of women as they’ve probably never had to deal with someone in her situation.
Little Kimora is a FOOL! She is so hood she cracks me up. She is memorable, something I really can’t say for any of the others. At this point I’m not that impressed with any of them. I do like the fact that they are trying new things and I can’t wait to see tonight’s episode, I just hope no one falls off of the stage and breaks nothing!!! Hell they ain’t nothing but bones anyway.

Nardsbaby… speaking of Little Kimora.. she reminds of Jade, she was on the show two or three seasons ago and she kissed the bug…. At this point, I am just laughing at the girls and of course, Ms. J, – I haven’t figured him/it out either
Does the show’s qualifications state that the contestant must be a woman? In any case, I agree that he’s not that attractive, although some of the other ones aren’t either without a lot of makeup and photo-shopping. His photos aren’t that bad when his mouth is closed, but even with the nicer pix, he is not top model quality. I do think that Isis is being exploited for ratings purposes, but I’m sure he’s not stupid – good publicity for him, I suppose. Tyra gets on my nerves more and more with each passing cycle of ANTM.
(((Raising my hand))) I’m an ANTM fan. I’m torn also. At first I thought no way. But really, where does it say that America’s Next Top Model must be a woman? I don’t think it does. But now we’re talking about a man, because yes he is still a man, living in a house with these women. Did anyone consider if the others would be comfortable with that? I’m not talking about if what he is doing is right or wrong or what everyone believes, but the basics of this is a man and they are women. I don’t think that should be forced on anyone. But then again, if there is nothing in the rules that stipulates that a man can’t enter the contest then he deserves a chance like everyone else. So then I thought Isis was gonna rock the house and be fierce with a capital F and leave all the girls in his/her dust. But thus far I’ve been disappointed. I think Isis can do much better than what he/she is doing. And if he/she doesn’t step it up, he/she won’t be around much longer.
Now as far as the show itself, I think this is gonna help with the ratings. People are gonna turn in just to see Isis and they know that. It’s added drama. And they’ve opened the door to many more like Isis…
This show is definitely one of my guilty pleasures! I don’t think they are exploiting her for controversy, but I also don’t really think she has a chance of winning the same way Toccara didn’t have a chance as the first plus size model when she was on the show. Someone always has to be the first to break the ice, but this person rarely takes it all the first time around. I say more power to her, this will open up opportunities for herself and others down the line.
I love this show.I am typing as I watch them walk down the bowling alley. I am still trying to figure out Isis. I kinda feel like it is Tyra making a statement. I do not think that Isis will win…why because i do not see top designers allow her to walk the runway for them. I love the twist in tonights show and Iove that I finally saw a trailer for my favorite show The Game.
I watch the show..she exploits everyone so this is no different in my view

…I think it’s a dilemma. I would want to be “her”. Which,truthly, I’m not intirely comfortable with the association. But, I deeply sympathize for the life she will lead. And the whole bathing suit fiasco was a circus. Yikes again.
But, I am intrigued by her face and yes I love the show!!

I didn’t even think about it, she is a lot like Jade, without all of the D-R-A-M-A. Jade kept that house on fire.
SO…did everyone watch ANTM? I was so glad they got rid of Hannah. Her I can do attitude was good, but I think she was a little too young and immature for the house. Isis got booted much sooner than I thought that she would. But I thought that this time she’d spIash in the water, especially since they were in their own house and Nigel knows her situation. Shoot if it would’ve popped out who would’ve seen it? I forgot to mention yesterday, that red head chick has the right look, but she really needs to get out of her own way. AND poor Joslyn, I like her, but she gone mess around and drown herself!!! LMAO. At least she went for it. You know a lot of people let their fears stop them.

I am agreeing with you NardsBaby… i was surprised that Isis was booted out so quickly, but we knew it would not last very long. I liked Hannah a little bit but admits that she was very naive.

Yas two people got booted last night. Hannah got booted first right after the walk off. OMG her walk was horrible!!! No one unfortunately fell off
. Then they had the challenge where they had to do a under water shot, and poor Isis was so concerned with her three pair of bottoms coming off that she was barely able to concentrate. Her picture looked horrible. The fashion designer was not pleased with the blonde with the short haircut because he felt like she disrespected him by raising her dress after he’d warned her prior not to. I forget her name, but she was in the bottom, but her pic was cool so you knew she wasn’t leaving.

The show repeats here on Sunday night… But Hannah was too funny. i can’t remember the name of the girl that raised her skirt to the designer. I thought she should have been sent home eventhought her picture was nice… Here in Md. an article on Isis is featured in the paper. It says that his mother still addresses him by his male name and he has been picked up for some runways in NYC… I haven’t read the whole article yet but I guess it paid off
I forgot the show repeats. Yas you should watch it. I believe Isis was too in her head which hurt her big time. No one else cared that she had on three pairs of bottoms. The picture was from the eyes up so she was safe. Which is what I meant by no one seeing if she went ping… The chick who raised her dress, I’m glad she felt the pain from her disrespect. After ANTM I switch over to Bravo to watch Project Runway – while the heck not. And I am mad that Suede was voted off. The dumb chick that did not know how to design a hip-hop outfit should have been voted off.

YEAH.. somebody else that watches the Amazing Race. The new episodes begin this Sunday and they have a team that are throw backs from the 60′s – HIppies. should be interesting.

I have been watchin those anime cartoons with Man-child trying to figure out what the big deal is about them. he want to be a graphic designer so i have to catch up on this stuff.
Amazing Race is one of my favorites. I actually want to go on that show. It comes back on Sunday so don’t miss it.
I am glad she was eliminated…she was trying too hard to ‘fit’ in versus doing her thing as a model.
I think Tyra is doing a pretty good job by mixing things up with the show but there are times when I wonder if the show is all about TYRA versus the models..lol
