I started out in romance because I did my research and discovered it was easier to get published without agent in this particular genre. Those books did well and I eventual got the agent. I had these different stories in me that I wanted in print so I came up with proposals over the years and my agent got to work making the deals happen.

The year is 1945 and Claire Beauchamp Randall, a former British combat nurse, is on holiday in Scotland with her husband, looking forward to becoming reacquainted after the war’s long separation. Like most practical women, Claire hardly expects her curiosity to get the better of her.

It is important to think about MARKETING. It is important to think about this even before you go about looking for agents and editors because there are some agents who want to know how you plan to promote your work.
