Our Kids Are Too Fat!! by Rambling Raven

I was an active kid. My friends and I often played for hours outdoors. We engaged ourselves in such activities as: Hide-n-Seek, Hopscotch, and Double-dutch (I couldn’t jump or turn but I tried my best every time), and Follow the Leader. We raced one another on foot or with our big wheels, skateboards and bikes.

The most poignant story to emerge from Facebook is that I recently found my best friend, Kerri from elementary school. For years we were inseparable. Yet, we stopped communicating in our teens.

I watched stunned as images of distraught Haitians tried to pull family and friends from underneath the rubbish that the quake left behind. To be totally honest; I never get exactly what I want for Christmas from others. And although I know that it is the thought that counts and most of the time I am grateful to get anything at all.

It Is Time to Reclaim Me by Rambling Raven

By • Dec 8th, 2009 • Category: Rambling Raven

I finally joined the rest of the world and logged on to Facebook. I searched and found many people from the past. It was both exhilarating and a little sad to see so many people who were once a part of my life, but who eventually became nothing more than a passing thought.

Skipping Thanksgiving by Rambling Raven

Thanksgiving is only one day, and unlike Christmas you don’t even exchange gifts on that day. So, why should I celebrate it? Why can’t I stay in bed that day and rest mentally and physically?

Cosmetic Surgery! Why Not? by Rambling Raven

Now, in this day and age you would think that a tummy tuck and a little lipo wouldn’t cause a stir. However, my dear friend found out that not everyone in her immediate circle was gung-ho about the entire thing. Some folk, like her mother, believes that it’s all just an exercise in vanity.
