Every Ending Is Also a Beginning

June 30th – wow, not only the end of another month, but the half-way point for the year! It’s a day that begs for reflection, review and recommitment. How are you doing with the goals you set for 2008? How did you do with the month of June? Where are you headed? What’s still left to do?
Take a moment, a deep breath, and reflect without judgment. What is working well in your life? What would you like to see change? How close are you to living the life you really want to live? How much are you being the person you really are? Do you let your light shine or do you hide it away?
Maybe the most important question is how are you doing with this moment? Wherever you find yourself, it’s always ‘now’. Now is the only time we have to do anything, accomplish anything, change anything, grow anything, think anything…be anything. Yesterday and tomorrow are but figments of our imagination so don’t get too hung up in them. Now is all we’ve got.
There is great peace to be found in the present moment. In fact, I’d venture to say that most of the stress we experience in life is generated by our resistance to staying in the moment. Right here, right now, this moment – not five minutes from now, not five minutes ago – what is wrong in your life? Likely you’ll have a difficult time coming up with anything. Our difficulties show up when we project into the future or rewind into the past. Why? Because we can’t be in either place to do or change anything! All we can affect is now. Now is the only place we have any power.
Every ending is also a beginning, so as you take this moment to take stock of where you’re at, realize that you have the power to create the life you really want to live in each and every moment. The past teaches us what we do and don’t want for our lives, and the future gives us the opportunity make the changes we recognize are required to adjust and refine our direction and path. Standing in this moment, celebrate where you’ve come from, what you’ve learned and then turn around, spread your arms open wide and greet the new beginning that awaits you!

Can I blow out the wishing flower? That’s what I called it because I never knew it’s name even though I believe it’s a dandelion.
I’ve achieved some of my goals for ‘08, but I have a few more. I can’t say anything about the things I’ve should of done differently, but like you said I can only control now. My actions now reflects on some of what has happened in the past and what will happen in the days to come.
Here’s to the rest of ‘08 make it the better part of the year.
Jennifer,
Yes, it’s a dandelion, gone to seed – the perfect expression of an ending also being a beginning! Blow it! Send your wishes, hopes and dreams out there to take root in your world – you bet!! In fact, I think I’ll join you.

OMG! You have described in detail the state I am in right at this moment! I have made a lot of mistakes with my spanking new publishing company (most born from ignorance) so I’ve decided to slow down a bit and apply new knowledge to my actions. I am a firm believer that you can have your cake and eat it too. You just have to take small bites and eat it slowly.
God bless everyone this fine Monday morn!
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! Sending link to my friends!!! Definitely going to reflect ont he first half of my year!
Great Blog!
I am going through a great blessing in seeing the official press release for the memoir I co-wrote with a good friend of mine…while it is her story, the fact that a year and a half ago she called me on one of her usual conversations and asked if I would help her write her story was a true blessing.
I am also enjoying other bits and pieces of ‘now moments’ and relish them…
Have a great and blessed week!
Donnica glad you loved it…and that you’re going to share with others.
Lisa–congrats on your upcoming release and a great and blessed week to you.
Julia…don’t be too hard on yourself…remember we live and learn…and everything is going to work out so that you can have your cake and eat it too! Hmmm what’s your favorite cake sis.

Great Post, every ending is a beginning and that’s the beauty of living in the moment, you get to reivent yourself…over and over again.
BLESSINGS,

Great blog! I’m always in constant reflection, and as this day approached, I found myself anticipating it so that I could really sit and think about all that’s transpired over this last half a year. Many great things have happened, and like everyone’s life, a lot of sad things have happened, too. Anything I would change? Not now – it’s in the past; all I can do is learn from it, move on, and hope to do better next time,
Great blog! And it’s true. The conflict comes when we are looking in the past and the future and can’t be in any of those places to change a thing. Makes wonderful sense.
Shon and Darnetta thanks so much for your words of wisdom!
