Beneath His Everlasting Wings by Rolanda T. Pyle is a collection of inspirational devotions, poems and short stories that make you reflect on your life and the struggles you might have endured. Reading this was like a breath of fresh air, knowing that I am not alone in this world and that there are others who have dealt with much worse and continued to keep the faith and come through it. Incorporated in this devotional were scripture quotes that led you back to the bible in order for you to get the full meaning of the story.
My favorite short story was “Faith To Go A Little Further” by Dr. Theresa Williams-Lloyd. They were on a church crusade where they encountered a horrible rainstorm which made travelling hard and dangerous so, they prayed and drove slowly trying to get to their destination safely. While driving they noticed how all of the other cars had stopped and pulled over to the side of the road. Saying a quick prayer of thanks the driver pushed on and drove out of the storm, asking the question “What if we would have stopped?” We never would have known that all we needed to do was go a little further. With that said how easy is it for us to give up at the first signs of failure, but if we continue to have faith we will prosper.
I recommend Beneath His Everlasting Wings to readers who are looking for inspiration, guidance and answers. It was a great, power-packed read..
