The Black Writers Reunion & Conference Creative Writing Scholarship
Convention participants have the chance to win one of three creative writing scholarships
Atlanta, Georgia – The country’s premier Black writing conference for professional, freelance and aspiring writers is providing all conference attendees the chance to win a creative writing scholarship.
The Black Writers Reunion & Conference will cover the full cost of one full day of informational workshops, constructive seminars and ‘meet-and-greets’ with Black literary professionals. As a bonus – all scholarship winners will receive a discount should they wish to register for the second day of workshops and seminars.
The BWRC Creative Writing Scholarships are meritorious awards. Winners will be selected by a committee comprised of faculty and staff. All scholarship applications will be reviewed for applicants’ skills, abilities, accomplishments and dedication as contributors to their literary community. Senior citizens and students (ages 12 and up) are especially encouraged to apply.
The deadline for scholarship applications is March 30, 2010. Recipients’ names will be posted on the conference website no later than April 30, 2010. Winners will also be notified by email.
All official entry forms and rules can be found by visiting blackwriters.org.
ABOUT THE BLACK WRITERS REUNION & CONFERENCE
Summer 2010 marks the 10th Anniversary of the BWRC. From June 23 to the 26, the W Atlanta Perimeter Hotel will host the 6th Black Writers Reunion & Conference. Over two dozen informative seminars and hands-on workshops will present the craft and business of writing, publishing, and self-publishing.
Established in 2000, the Black Writers Reunion & Conference is well known for its engaging workshop presenters, outstanding topics, inspirational ambience, and professional organization. While BWRC does not discriminate against participants of any race, BWRC is the only touring conference with the added cultural bonus of being presented both by and for Black writers.
BWRC’s mission is to educate, support, and motivate aspiring, emerging, and published writers. We promote and encourage artistic expression and growth through skill development in the art, craft, and business of creative writing in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama as well as business and career endeavors in professional writing.
To attend the BWRC: Pre-registration is required for all workshops and seminars. Early Registration ends April 30, 2010. General Registration ends June 14, 2010.
