The Black Writers Reunion & Conference presents the “Give Me Five” Writing Contest
Write 5 pages of fiction or screenplay treatment for a chance to win up to $200!

Atlanta, Georgia – America’s premier Black writing conference for professional, freelance and aspiring writers is launching a new contest to entice all scribes to pen the ultimate fiction release – for a chance to win cash prizes!

The Black Writers Reunion & Conference is proud to present the “Give Me Five” Writing Contest. This is a chance for all writers to receive professional feedback from a panel of top literary and editorial professionals. Writers are encouraged to submit five pages of fiction or screenplay treatment on a topic of their choice. All entries will be judged on four categories: structure, dialogue, style and originality. The top twenty-five submissions in each category will have 30 days to submit a second entry.

The prizes are as follows:

  • Grand Prize: $200, plus recognition certificate at the 2010 Black Writers & Reunion Conference in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Second Prize: $100, plus recognition certificate
  • Third Prize: $50, plus recognition certificate

ABOUT THE BLACK WRITERS REUNION & CONFERENCE
Summer 2010 marks the 10th Anniversary of the BWRC. From June 23 to the 26, the W Atlanta Perimeter Hotel will host the 6th Black Writers Reunion & Conference. Over two dozen informative seminars and hands-on workshops will present the craft and business of writing, publishing, and self-publishing.

Established in 2000, the Black Writers Reunion & Conference is well known for its engaging workshop presenters, outstanding topics, inspirational ambience, and professional organization. While BWRC does not discriminate against participants of any race, BWRC is the only touring conference with the added cultural bonus of being presented both by and for Black writers.

BWRC’s mission is to educate, support, and motivate aspiring, emerging, and published writers. We promote and encourage artistic expression and growth through skill development in the art, craft, and business of creative writing in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama as well as business and career endeavors in professional writing.

To attend the BWRC: Pre-registration is required for all workshops and seminars. Early Registration ends April 30, 2010. General registration ends June 14, 2010.
