Normally, APOOO takes this time each week or two to highlight someone who is making a difference in our community. Some weeks it is challenging because I do not have enough time to research individuals to shine the spotlight on. I wish all weeks could be as easy as this one. Hands-down this week’s honoree–a most deserving one–is Amy at My Friend’s Amy. If you are an avid book reader, cyberspace surfer, and at the very least have even visited APOOO’s site during the last week…you’ve probably heard about My Friend Amy. Oh wait…she works behind the scenes a lot so you might not know her name…blog…but gosh darn it I hope you have heard about the exciting, illustrious blog carnival that she created–Book Blogger’s Appreciation Week. I cannot believe what a magnificent feat she pulled off in such a short time. Over 200 book bloggers are participating and promoting this event and many of us, including Amy, are offering some wonderful prizes.
For those who do not know Amy, here’s a sneak peek of her bio:
My name is Amy. I am 28 years old and single. I try to love God and other people, but I am not always successful. Sometimes, I am downright selfish.
I love books. Right now, I work in an adult literacy and English language acquisition program. The people I spend my time with at work do not generally enjoy books. Therefore, I talk about books a lot on my blog. But because I’m ADD, I also talk about God and my faith when I’m feeling bold enough to share, television and film (because I’m infatuated with good storytelling), any travel I might be lucky enough to do, and whatever minor things startle and surpise me in life.

APOOO congratulates My Friend Amy on a job well done!
