Calling All Book Bloggers

As the old year ends and a new year begins, I need to make some changes. One being prioritizing my online persona.  I plan to get out more and smell the roses this year.  I need to nurture more local relationships.  Do more in the community.  My church.  My sorority.  In order to do that I need to step away from the computer.

But, I want to maintain and strength relationships with those I’ve met here…especially those who LOVE books as much as I do.  My google reader count has become out-of-control.  I’m subscribed to way too many blogs and need to reduce the count to at least half…I’m thinking a count until 50 would probably be more realistic, but if I can get the count to under 100 and still visit other’s blogs on a weekly basis then I will be happy.

That said, I’m developing a blog roll…so that I can stay in contact with all of my favorite bloggers…but more importantly the ones who remember and visit me.  I want it to be a two-way interaction…and not just me always talking about what I’m doing.  ;)   A number of you currently list me on your blogroll and I’m very grateful.  I would like to also return the favor.  Please let me know (you can leave your name/blog name in the comment section) and I will add you to the list.

To others, who want to share blog links, let me know and I will add you to the list.  Note–this is NOT a popularity contest, nor is it one where I’m looking to link a whole bunch of folks.  I already do that and that’s not networking or relationship building.  I’m looking for serious individuals who want to have a relationship beyond ‘you had me at hi.’  LOL.  If that’s you, leave me a comment.

In the meantime, I’m off to work on getting my google read count under 50 and working on making some serious cyber connects doing 2009.  Looking forward to getting to know a few of you better and would love to call you one of my cyber friends beginning in 2009.

  1. ROFL! At myself!

This blog thing has a mind of it’s own. I too reduced my blog reading by 50% mid-year. I’m back up to where i was and maybe higher, although using Google reader helps me to read much more quickly, even skimming some posts, so it doesn’t take any more time than it used to. It just doesn’t take less time.

But blogging is how I keep current with what’s going on in publishing as well as network with other readers and writers. And it’s fun. Nonetheless, I’m sure I’ll be whining about reading too many blogs by mid-year again.

Please add my blog to your blog roll, Yasmin. I haven’t updated mine in a while but I’m adding APOOO too.
