In this sequel, More Church Folk, author Michele Andrea Bowen presents a new meaning to the devil is always working. Reverend Theophilus Simmons is running his congregation in St. Louis, while his best friend, Reverend Eddie Tate, is running his in Chicago. The upcoming Triennial General Conference that will name the new Bishop is underway along with causing some ungodly behaviors. Both of these reverends most come together to unearth the wrongdoings before it spreads throughout the event.
Bishop Larsen Giles, Sonny Washington, Marcel and Ernest Brown have come up with the best-laid plan to accomplish their riches and gold. These preachers’ secrets to making money and taking over the Gospel United Church and all its denominations will give them the power they have been waiting on. Everything is going as they planned until the nosey Reverend and Federal Agent Denzelle Flowers starts snooping around. What happens in the dark will soon become known and when it does will these preachers be ready to stand their ground?
This book gives readers a glimpse into the work of greedy preachers. I have read several books related to preachers and this one did not do much for me. What started as a very entertaining book that had me laughing my head off suddenly stalled toward the middle. The action in the book picked up toward the end but by then I had lost interest. I did appreciate the inclusion of women into the ministry, which the author does well. I do recommend this book to others.
