Consequences by Skyy

It seems that Skyy teased her readers with her debut novel, Choices. Now, she is back with Consequences and will surely solidify her name on some reader’s favorite authors list. Choices left us wondering quite a few things, but Consequences bridges the gap.

Lena is in a position that most women dream of being. On the verge of marrying the fabulous basketball star, Brandon Redding, she still has unresolved bi-curious issues to address. And no matter how good being Mrs. Lena Redding sounds and feels, there is a part of her that belongs to Denise. Will her emotions threaten her marriage? Or will she dismiss them as mere curiosity and live the high life with Brandon?

Denise is not without complications of her own. Although she lost her grandmother in the first book, Denise still uses her as inspiration to finish college and possibly join the WNBA. But she still has a burning desire to be with Lena. These feelings appear everywhere; even when she is embracing other women. Will Denise decide to let Lena be? Or will she destroy a marriage before it even begins?

Cooley is not the same. The old Cooley a.k.a. Killa Cap is in love, but love may not love this player. Things may not have worked out the way Cooley wanted, but Misha has her heart and that cannot be denied. Cooley tones it down hoping Misha will one day decide their relationship is what she wants. But will Cooley be able to accept that Misha may not be the one for her? Did she give up all the fly chicks for a dream?

Carmen lives an almost perfect life with her lady, Nic. Nic loves Carmen and there is nothing she will not do to prove it. But Carmen has yet to let go of the insecurities that plagued her in Choices. Will Carmen lose the best relationship for her? Or will she let go of the past and work on her future with Nic?

Skyy is definitely an author to watch. She executed a well-written novel and paid very close attention to detail. Consequences is a great example of friendship beyond measure and how we have to live with the aftermath of our decisions. The sex scenes were more than off the chain. Skyy went a little further with them than in the former. Be warned, the drama is not over. I recommend Consequences to everyone who read Choices and those who enjoy drama and jaw-dropping reads.
