Cupid Shuffle Anyone? Not If You’re an NFL Football Player

Oh give me a freaking break…the NFL is so full of themselves.  I’ve never agreed with football players being fined for hot-dogging, dancing in the end zone after making a touchdown.  Really showing any type of emotion.  I love seeing men, especially big, husky football players express their joy, happiness, excitement.  Adds a bit of humanness to the game for me.  Why can’t a man show his emotions?  But, not so, says the NFL.

Once again a player has been fined.  This time…several of them.  The following Miami Dolphin players broke out into the Cupid Shuffle after a touchdown again the Chargers: Ronnie Brown, Vernon Carey, and Ikechuku Ndukwe.  Not only did they perform the Cupid Shuffle…but it was a dance that they had practiced/rehearsed prior to and for the game.

I didn’t see the game and haven’t seen the footage of them doing the Cupid Shuffle.  But others who saw it questioned if it looked like the Cupid Shuffle.  Whether it did or did not they’re being fined…and if you don’t know what the Cupid Shuffle looks like, here’s a video demonstrating the dance.

DISCUSSION QUESTION

Can you do the Cupid Shuffle?

Should NFL players be penalized for dancing on the field?  Why or why not?

  1. Ridiculous…but what’s funny is next year, all of the NFL cheerleaders will have learned it and it will be in their routines, just watch.

  2. Lisa…I’m still trying to figure out where dancing elicits a fine…

Lena…lol…yep next year all of the cheerleaders will be doing it…hehe.

  3. I can do the cupid shuffle and its a damn workout if the dj plays a really long version of the song of the same name.

However I did not see this game. But, I really prefer the player who makes the touchdown to throw the football to the ground and jump up and down…I really don’t care for the Soul Train segment…that’s just me.

  4. I don’t think I can cupid shuffle LOl. When the song was HOTT!!! I tried, but now that it has dies out…except in Football I haven’t really thought about it.
Now as far as dancing in the end zone…man thats one of the hottest parts of a football game!! The rules are getting more crazy by the second…i am begining to think this is becoming a race thing.

  5. I know I can’t do it…LOL (my two left feet won’t allow me to make a fool out of myself trying)

I didn’t see the game but…I say let them have some fun celebrating…as a football fan I understand why they started the rule against it..sadly it’s seen as a diss to the other team.

  6. I can do the Cupid Shuffle. Being down here in Florida it is like a law that you know all of the lines dances. My friends get offended when I do not want to get up and do it. I guess it was like back home in Jersey. The electric Slide was big during the time of my Senior prom and has been played at ALL weddings since then(LOL).

Now onto the fine. I hate that they can not celebrate. I do not think it is unsportsman like conduct. I love that they celebrate. That is like when TO got called for unsportsman like conduct because after he scored he got down in the sprint position and got up as if he was taking off. I guess the rle is they cannot touch the ground. How you gonna fine someone for dancing.

  7. I can do the cupid shuffle. No I don’t think the players should be penalized for dancing once a touchdown has been made. I believe fininf them for these type of actions take away from the celebration.

  8. Hello people. The reason he was fined was because it was a group celebration. Had Brown done it alone, he might not have gotten fined. But the NFL isn’t called the NO FUN League for nothing.
This man plays on a team that won one game last season, he has a reason to dance in the end zone. But on the flip side, rules are rules and if you break them, you have to pay.
If you haven’t seen the dance, here’s a link http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80b7a646

One love, one life, one chance and one vote!
    November 4th is coming!

    CHERIS

  9. Cheris…the NFL had fined INDIVIDUALS for hot-dogging/celebrating in the end zone…it’s not just for group offenses.
