Another season of the Dancing With the Stars coming soon. Hmmm…is this all we have to choose from?

Sorry, I would have preferred Sherri Shephard (The View) to Lil Kim or whatever her name is…LOL. Okay maybe I need to give her the benefit of the doubt…because maybe she can really dance…ballroom dance that is. At the very least, she should be interesting. Hehe. What say you? Since it seems we only get to have two of us on the show at any given time…who would you have selected to represent US. Name one African-American female and one African- American male that you would like to see on Dancing With the Stars.
NOTE: No hate mail please. Since it’s Black History Month, I want to pay tribute to folks of African descendants…hmmm actually I choose to do that all the time…so if this bothers you…please keep it moving as your comment will be deleted if you choose to be disrespectful or even question why you think I’m making it a Black Thang.

I was disappointed with the selections. I am with you – Little Kim… all she is good for would be the skimpy outfits and I am sure they will be revealing -OMG!! . Jewel and her husband – boring. David Allen Grier – another Clois Leachman; Nancy O’Dell from the gossip show, Entertainment or whatever, – boring; shawn Johnson, Gymnist, may be interesting, Stevie O, the guy from Jackazz – Trouble; the race car guy … Hmmm … not sure…Lawrence Taylor, another football player – I think we got it , big guys can be graceful so lets try basetball, or baseball
If anything it will be interesting to watch. I think I would have selected Charles Barkley, Tall big foot and Big mouth, George Foreman – he can cook and prolly dance. I can’t think of any AA females since they all take dance or have some back ground in dance… but Hmmmm .. Maybe Jada Pinket Smith, Jurnee Smolett (think i got that right) Kimberly Elise, Condy Rice, she needs something to do now that her Sec of State gig is up. LOL
I agree…why Jewel and her husband. I did not recognize the the gymnist by name. I knew Steve O, Love LT, David I knew…Nancy O’Dell because I watch her show. I am really on the fence about lil KIm. Gilles Marini and Chuck Wicks…who is this? Steve Wozniak..I knew the name jsut not sure why I knew it.
I would have loved to see Morris Chesnut or Usher(yes I am obsessed with him so what) and for the female I think Jada or Jasmyn Guy(just because I always liked her)
I have to admit, I’m a little more than just shocked that L’il Kim even agreed. I hope she doens’t come on acting like she’s too good especially after all of the freaky raps she’s produced. I hope she comes with it and is open to the critiques. Admittedly I have my concerns, but shoot I just want a sista to win! I think that Jasmine Guy would be an ideal choice. Dance is in her background, so they may stir away from her. Girl if Morris Chestnut gets on that show, I’ll be in the audience every single episode!!!

Anyway, I’ve already expressed before how I feel about this show. I don’t like how they pick and choose blacks and I DO NOT like that they don’t have any professional black dancers. I know they are some, I know it. Ballroom dancing is prejudice.

I don’t want to see no hearts and flowers over a nipple. They better dress Lil Kim from head to toes. I don’t mind the selections, but come on can we get some people who are actually doing some things now versus years ago. Grier I believe has a variety show. I can’t remember what it’s called but it reminds me of the Tracey Ullman Show or In Living Color.

Since David Alan Grier is an Cass Tech Alumni, the slumni association will vote for him, but I suspect he won’t go far. Lil Kim, Yuck. they could have done better, I thought Nia Long was going to be our token Black girl this year. LT,. ummm,
Remember when they had Clyde Drexler on. He was so stiff, I guess he ruined it for all basketball players, plus they are in seaason right now, so they can’t participate unless they are retired.
I would like to see Serena Williams as a female contestant and Morris Chestnut as a male contestant.

Dera, the Donna Richardson I’m referring to is the one who took Heather Locklear’s man. Oops I typed her name wrong and Sherri Shephard’s (last name)…sorry about…going to change it.
Okay hubby and son just told me that in order for folks of color to be on Dancing With the Stars they must be has-beens…sigh.
I don’t have any choices because I rarely watch the show. But Lil Kim is my girl so I will be watching this season (because of her).
