Tina Brooks McKinney’s Deep Deception will leave readers speechless. Veronica, Victoria and Ramon were raised in a modest home. Their mother, Madre Sita, never learned to speak English and their father still lived in Columbia taking care of his elderly parents. After a very strange phone call, Madre Sita had a heart attack. Veronica, being the eldest, calls their father so that he can return to the States for the funeral. They are all excited and fearful of their father, a man they had not seen in almost 10 years. However, the man who claimed to be their father was not the person they remembered. This man spoke English, dressed well and he had a college degree.
As the three siblings tried to find out the mystery behind their father, they also tried unsuccessfully to hide their own secrets. With the unsolicited help of their lovers, Veronica and Victoria learn that their parents harbored deep secrets that could destroy them all.
McKinney has written a story that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you have it all figured out, she gives you another twist that leaves you shaking your head. I am pretty sure that a sequel is in the works. This is a good read for mystery buffs.
