DUPLICITY by Oasis is a story about Parrish Clovis, a motion-picture mogul who is married to the famous actress, Hana Kafka. Parrish has always had the fantasy of being with his wife and another woman but since the very beginning Hana has refused that fantasy. That is until one day, out of the clear blue she tells him she will grant his fantasy, if he grants her fantasy. When Hana tells him what the fantasy is, he blacks out. When he wakes up he is surrounded by the police, has blood on his hands and his wife has been left bloody and beaten. Unfortunately, he cannot remember anything, especially ever touching his wife.
Thus, begins the downward spiral of life as he once knew it. Before long he is accused of beating and raping his wife. Also, unbeknownst to him he has been seeing a psychiatrist for years since he was diagnosed as having multiple personalities but later diagnosed as having Dissociative Identity Disorder. He also does not remember the woman that claims they have been having an affair for years. Or multiple other things. Could it be true that Parrish really is mentally unstable, due to issues from his childhood? Or could it just be one organized, well-thought out, well-scripted con that has been in the making from the very beginning, all in hopes of someone getting a hold of his millions? Will he/she/they succeed?
DUPLICITY by Oasis had me hooked. This is a story about love, lies and deceit. Unfortunately, I felt the author or publisher revealed too much of the story in the synopsis on the back of the book; if not for that the book would not have been so predictable. Although, Author Oasis did a marvelous job in weaving the story together and had me cracking up laughing with that bird ( too funny). The bird really is a key part of this story, with his wise cracks and profanity he is only speaking the truth. All in all this was a quick and engrossing read.
