Keep the Faith chronicles the life of R and B Artist, Faith Evans, revealing much, dispelling myths and rumors, and justifying other things, especially the artist’s life with the Notorious BIG.

Faith shares with readers where she came from in terms of her birth, her parents and other relatives, and the influence they had on her life, shaping her into the person she is today. She tells of her beginnings with a single mother, who was also an artist in her own right, and the grandparents who would ultimately raise her, keeping her in the church and close to God

Her singing began in church, and as Faith met people in the music industry, opportunities opened up and her dreams were realized more than she ever imagined.  Writing music, singing background vocals for well known artists, meeting and becoming the First Lady of Bad Boy Records, the drugs, the drinking and the sexing followed. But mostly, Faith shared her relationship with ; how they met, what drew them to each other, their volatile relationship, and the break-up that was never mended prior to his death.

As much as I enjoyed reading somewhat behind the scenes in the story had the feel that it was told to someone and the book was second hand information and therefore the reason I cannot rate this book.  To me, there was no real emotion, especially during the time of struggle and loss.  What I appreciated most was that names were revealed with the exception of a few, and the pictures of her beautiful family.  If I were to rate this book, it would be on the fact that it appears that Faith Evans has comefull circle to live the life that her mother and grandparents have wanted for her all along.

  1. I have been looking forward to the release of this book. Recently I discovered that the person who wrote the book is the same person from my hometown, whom I went to school with. I am going to be adding this book to my list of 80 plus book I have in my house and have not read yet.
