Valerie FieldsIn the spotlight this week is Valerie K. Fields.  Fields is the owner of VK Fields & Co Public Relations firm and she is also the founder of two non-profit groups–Miracle Ministries and MiT (Millionaires in Training).  She was nominated by her cousin who thinks she is phenomenal!

Fields is a minister, businesswoman, entrepreneur and avid volunteer. She is CEO of V.K. Fields & Co. Public Relations & Copywriting Firm in Raleigh, NC (www.vkfields.com) and the founder of Miracle Ministries a faith-based, non-profit organization described as a  ’a healing place for hurting people.’  The organization’s mission is to offer assistance to individuals and families who are in need of spiritual, physical and emotional healing and to direct those who are searching for divine purpose in life through Biblical and Christian principles. The organization focuses its outreach to victims and survivors of domestic violence. Miracle Ministries is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization; the MiT program is part of its community outreach and development.Through Miracle Ministries, Fields launched ‘Millionaires in Training,’ an entrepreneurial and business training program for adolescents in under-served communities.

MiT’s overall object is to prepare and train future entrepreneurs for the professional workforce and introduce them to basic business concepts through the development of mock businesses, professional networking opportunities, field trips, and in-house computer training and business seminars presented by successful business leaders. Course topics such include: Basic Business Principles and Business Law, Career Planning & Goal Setting, Accounting & Bookkeeping, Self-Esteem & Image Consulting, Exercise & Nutrition, and Voice & Diction. Weekly guest facilitators include entrepreneurs, business owners, and other professionals in the business arena.

The program targets adolescent girls 12-15 years old and consists of 15 to 20 weekly sessions that offer a different aspect of business and entrepreneurship to the future business owners. Young participants analyze their strengths and create their own in-house company to produce, market, and distribute a product or service.
