Thanks for putting a little light on a book I read a while ago but still love. "Finding Makeba" is one of those books that Men especially black men need to read and decipher its messages. Not just about deadbeat fathers but bout the situation that lead a man or person to act as they do or respond to situations. Gets inside the heart and mind and gives identity to its malice "Mates" I got chills reading it and could not put it down. Author knows how to build tension and deliver without being predictable. I loved it. Found it when I was in search of African Amer. Male authors during my late twentys /early thirties. Now we have too many "Hood" novelists and "Waiting to Exhale" cloned or themed books. This along with "Father Found" & "The Harris Men" by RM Johnson should be on ALL Must read lists in Male academies. Thank you again for highlighting.

Yas excellent review I must confess your review did exactly what a reviews does; tantilize the reader to buy/ready the book. I'm on my way to Amazon now to order it along with A. P. Jones Billion Dollar Winner. I met this author a couple a weekends ago and her energy made me gravitate towrds her book.

Usually, I don't find these books in my library. I do love the books you review or the authors who stop by. Our library is a good one. They just can't carry everything due to hard times.
