FIXIN’ TYRONE by Keith Walker is a story about a woman that is tired of all the losers that she seems to wind up with. Mia is a single mother of two children, by two different men, one in prison and the other dead. Not only is Mia raising her two children on her own, she also has been taking care of her younger sister that has been helping her with the kids while she is at work.
One man Mia gets involved with seems to be a great catch. As we all know sometimes when things look too good to be true, they usually are. It all started when she accidentally stepped on his pants and noticed that his pants were vibrating (his cell phone was going off) so curiosity got the best of her and she got one hell of a shock when she called the number back. Then while out to lunch with her boss, he makes a pass at her and since he is wealthy and handsome she decides to give it a chance, that is until he decides to tell her his viewpoint on women that have children with more than one man. Then there is Tyrone, her son’s father, recently released from prison. He is determined to get Mia back and wants more than anything to take care of her and both her children. Mia is adamant about not going back to Tyrone, no matter how good he may look. After awhile she begins to think, maybe just maybe, this thug could turn out to be the man she would want, with a little molding that is. Will Mia be able to get Tyrone to change his thuggish ways????
FIXIN’ TYRONE by Keith Walker is an entertaining read. I mean, almost every woman at some point in her life has wished that her man could be molded into the perfect man. Can you make a man change? Or do you think that a man can only change if he is willing to change? With a good woman at your side anything is possible…right? Well you need to read the book to see. I will say this, Mr. Walker had me laughing out loud; Fixin’ Tyrone makes for an entertaining read. There are a few parts that are a little slow but all in all it was a pretty good read. The one suggestion I would give to Mr. Walker is to exclude describing each character’s clothing; it is not necessary to include in each scene. I look forward to reading his sophomore novel HOW TO KILL YOUR HUSBAND.
