In Flames of Deception by Marcia E. Woodruff, readers enter a realm of secrets, betrayals, and consequences. Candice George runs several modeling agencies, which have made her the successful woman she is today. She meets Hamilton Barker, a handsome and sexy man that makes her mouth water. While having dinner she invites him to emcee her fashion show, giving her the chance to get to know him better. The game begins once Hamilton realizes that she cannot resist him. Will he take it too far? Or will Candice come to her senses?

Melina Divine is Candice’s best friend and business partner. She has always had her friend’s best interest at heart until… Melina starts an affair she should have let go a long time ago and now that affair wants more than she can give. How far will Melina go to have happiness?

Candice loves with her heart and not her head and she will find out that things are not always as they seem. When she meets Damon, and he helps her out of a situation, she feels obligated to entertain him. When things seem to be going well for Candice, hell rears its ugly head and plots begin to form against her. Candice becomes confused and cannot decide on whom to trust. Will she have a happy ending? Or will everything that Candice has go up in flames?

Flames of Deception is a sheer book of entertainment. It is full of sex, deceit, and unwanted relationships. After reading this book, readers will definitely be aware of the company they keep. I enjoyed how author used well-developed characters and unsuspecting twists to keep readers interested until the end. This book had me so mesmerized that I could not put it down; I finished it in one day’s time. I look forward to reading more from this author. I recommend this book to readers of suspense and drama.
