The Good Girlz have returned in ReShonda Tate Billingsley’s, Friends ‘Til The End. Jasmille, Camille, Alexis and Angel are now juniors in high school and have become fascinated with the opposite sex. However, nothing can come between these young sisters, they have weathered so many storms, broken up over silly things, but have always found their way  back together. It seems they have been through every possible scenario. Nothing else can happen or can it?

The focal point of this novel is Jasmine. She has always been the big girl with the even bigger temper and attitude. But now that she has fallen in love with C.J. Taylor, and more importantly he in love with her, her life could not be better. Jasmine has a boyfriend who has no problem telling the world he loves her, her family approves and she is so happy she is even getting along with Jaquan, her once very distant brother. Finally life is blissful.

Of course, in the ever dramatic world of today’s youth, nothing is ever as good as it seems. Just as Jasmine and Jaquan are starting to get along, she senses he is struggling with something. It is clear he cannot talk about it, but he asks her to pray for him. Jasmine is determined to get to the bottom of whatever is bothering her brother. Before she can find out, however, a series of serious incidents occur, turning her life upside down and threatening to cause her to lose the people she loves most, including C.J. Will young love be able to conquer all, or will loyalties come between them forever? Will even the friendship of the Good Girlz be jeopardized?

Ms. Billingsley does a wonderful job of bringing us a story straight from today’s news headline. While she does not sugarcoat anything, she provides the reader with hope. I recommend this young adult novel to readers of all ages.

  1. Thanks for posting. The Young Adult (YA) Fiction market is really exploding with great stuff. Authors with great series are Reshonda, Victoria Christopher Murray, Jacquelin Thomas, and Stephanie Perry Moore.

Look for a YA book series from Tiffany Warren in 2009.

Definitely check out more of the Exorsistah series by Claudia Mair Burney in 2009 too!

Books make great Christmas gifts! ;)
