Marriage Drama
God Ain’t Through Yet by Mary Monroe is the continuation of a series of stories with God in the title, such as God Don’t Like Ugly which I read years ago. Though I have not read all the books in the series it did not matter. I was able to get into the story and enjoy the hilarious drama from start to finish.
Annette Davis has lost over a hundred pounds and her husband, Pee-Wee, has forgiven her for having a blatant affair with a younger man. It seems that things could not be better. Their love life has heated up and Pee-Wee rarely mentions the affair. Annette is convinced that Pee-Wee would never cheat on her, he even told her as much. However, what she had not counted on was Little Leg Lizzie, a former childhood friend, coming back to town and needing a job. In fact, Annette felt so sorry for her homely friend she helped her get a job with Pee-Wee and from that moment forth the drama ensues.
God Ain’t Through Yet is filled with colorful characters and even more colorful language that will have the reader howling with laughter and talking along with the characters. The main storyline is entertaining but, just as entertaining are the back stories about Annette’s friends and family and how intermingled everyone is in everyone else’s life. I recommend God Ain’t Through Yet to Mary Monroe fans and to all readers who enjoy, drama and fun-filled stories.
The novel was provided by the publisher for review purposes.
