Have you read any books by Eric Jerome Dickey? For years he held the distinction of being my favorite author. I’ve read all his book except for CHASING DESTINY, DRIVE ME CRAZY (it drove me crazy so I put it down) and this new one.
If so, what are some of your favorite reads? I’d say my favorites are CHEATERS and SISTER, SISTER.
Who are some of your favorite Dickey characters? Gideon, Stephan, Chante, and Arizona.
If you could have dinner with Dickey, what character would you want to know more about? Probably Gideon. His past is “colorful.”

It’s Thanksgiving and you’re inviting Mr. Dickey to dinner…what do you think the affair will be like? I had the opportunity to meet him at a signing. He was fun and very down to earth so I would hope that dinner would be the same. Informal, carefree and fun. What would I serve? Considering it’s Thanksgiving – turkey. But if I can do me, I love Italian food so I’d go with lasagna. I’ma a Spades kind of gal so I’d be trying to run a Boston!
Ms. Toni´s last blog post..OOSA Online Book Club gave 5 stars to: Chante’s Song
First two books in this Trilogy were good…hoping the third doesn’t let me down.
Hey Toni…I loved your answers…esp. your Thanksgiving with Mr. Dickey…you worked it out sis.
Hey SL if you like the second one then the third book should be just fine.
Let me try this again…LOL
I’ve read all of his books (couldn’t finish Pleasure because of typo’s)
My favorites have been Genevieve, Friends & Lovers, Milk in my Coffee, Sleeping with Strangers and Waking with Enemies.
Arizona and Gideon are my favorites and I would like to know more about Arizona.
Loving the Mystery…but the Romance was good also.
Dinner would have to be casual as I would like to be able to pick his creative mind…I would prepare Fried and Baked Chicken, Potato Salad, Collard Green, Cornbread Dressing with Peach Cobbler and Sweet Potato Pie…can’t forget the Sweet Iced Tea,
I believe he would be laid back and relaxed after eating all that…LOL
SL, I believe he would be tired after eating all of that…lol. I loved friends and lovers!
My favorite book from Mr. Dickey is Chasing Destiny. That is definitely a classic! I must admit that I haven’t read any from this latest trilogy but would definitely love a chance to be able to! I also would like to read Pleasure.

I have met him before, about 8 years ago and he wa very down to earth. I would seve the traditional dinner, monopoly, clue, who wants to be a millionaire and wheel of fortune.
I’ve only read two of Dickey’s books…Pleasure and Chasing Destiny…wasn’t impressed by Pleasure but really liked Chasing Destiny. But you know a sista always loves a free book…

Hey Debra…and thanks for stopping by. Good seeing you ova here.
I LOVE Eric Jerome Dickey. Thank you for the contest! Too broke to buy right now hoping to win his newest release. Obama and Eric is too much in one month LOL !!!
I have read several books by Eric Jerome Dickey and his style has definitely changed since the beginning. As a result I hadn’t been able to get through his books like I used to. Recently I bought a copy of ‘Chasing Destiny’ and I must say that I enjoyed it. His writing style is different, but different is good every once and a while. The book was somewhat suspenseful which is what kept me interested. Since the latest one takes place in my hometown, Detroit, I am very interested to see what he has done with it. But, I don’t want to read it until I have read the rest of the books in the series, so I better get to reading!

Hey Monica…thanks for stopping by and get to reading…lol.
Debra…you’re funny…Obama and Eric too much in one month…hehe.
Monica I loved Chasing Destiny,
what I found amazing was 2 things first was a line he said which was
I will Love You until Infinity becomes Measureable
and
That the whole Scene was 24 hours
Hey Debra…all of Chasing Destiny took place within 24 hours?
YES all of the story was within a 24 hour period which made it more Riveting
Okay, I need to win this for Rebecca because I told her I wasn’t going to buy it but if I got a free copy I would give it to her. She thinks I’m her personal book store. I’m taking an EDJ break. Actually, she was going to go get it on Sunday after we left the restaurant but she went online and saw it wasn’t going to be released until Tuesday.
Dera´s last blog post..My name is Dera and I am a bookaholic
Miss Toni, you like so many others are fans of EDJ earlier books. I loved Friends and Lovers but I thought the rest were pretty good, but not great though I thought Milk in My Coffee was “interesting.” My favorites are Between Lovers and The Other Woman. I also really liked Drive Me Crazy. I got that one. I really saw growth in his writing with each book. Pleasure was well, not a disappointment but had me scratching my head.
I have met in several times in Oakland. He used to come out for every book up until Chasing Destiny. He is a riot and always had us cracking up.

Have you read any books by Eric Jerome Dickey?
I have read all of his books except for “Waking With Enemies” & “Pleasure”. I tried to read Pleasure but it just seemed like it was chock full of sex, so I put it down.
If so, what are some of your favorite reads?
All his earlier stuff.
Who are some of your favorite Dickey characters?
Characters in his earlier novels.
If you could have dinner with Dickey, what character would you want to know more about?
I wouldn’t want to know about the the characters I’d like to know more about him, like what made him change up his writing from when he first came out and why he doesn’t occassionally write those type of books anymore.
Dickey’s writing has changed since he first burst on the scene. Currently, he writes in several genres. What’s your favorite genre.
His older stuff! The drama filled!
It’s Thanksgiving and you’re inviting Mr. Dickey to dinner…what do you think the affair will be like? (What type of guest will he be? What will you serve for dinner? What type of board or card games will you play? The sky’s the limit…and creativity is encouraged).
Okay I read this question wrong the first time–when you said an affair–my mind went somewhere else, LOL. Umm–lets see, I think that he would be a great conversationalist, considering he has written in different genres, I think he has an active imagination so I think the the conversation would definitely be interesting. I also think he would have me laughing because of some of the wit he has displayed in his novels. Since it would be Thanksgiving I would serve ham and the fixings, but I am with Ms. Toni, if I could have my way I would love some lasagna instead but since its Thanksgiving, I gotta be traditonal. I think I would play that game “pyramid” with him, because I’d love to see how he would try to describe a word and if I would be able to guess it–lol.
Have you read any books by Eric Jerome Dickey? All of them
If so, what are some of your favorite reads?Chasing Destiny, Pleasures(I know I am one of few), Thieves Paradise, Sleeping with Strangers, Waking with Enemies.
Who are some of your favorite Dickey characters? Gideon, Destiny
If you could have dinner with Dickey, what character would you want to know more about? Gideon
Dickey’s writing has changed since he first burst on the scene. Currently, he writes in several genres. What’s your favorite genre. I have real ly begun the mystery he adds to his books. I read so much romance that it is a good break. I did enjoy his first attempt at Erotica(he warned at that book signing I attended that the book was not classic Dickey reading)
It’s Thanksgiving and you’re inviting Mr. Dickey to dinner…what do you think the affair will be like? (What type of guest will he be? What will you serve for dinner? What type of board or card games will you play? The sky’s the limit…and creativity is encouraged). I have to agree that when I met him he was very down to earth, he has a great personality and you can tell his passion for his books and characters. Dinner would not change from what I do…Turkey, ham, greens, rice, mac and cheese, bread, yams, sweet potato pies. We would be playing the Wii, spades and a little playstation III
I have read a couple of EJD’s books.
My fav are Pleasure and Genevieve.
I like the newer novels of EJD as opposed to his older ones.
If I had one question to ask him – it would be about his writing of location, the exact location descriptions to the most minute detail – how does he do that?
As for dinner – since his novels take place in different parts of the world/country – I would have to think a little about the menu but it would be a fusion of American/Caribbean/Asian.
Hey if Eric is reading this blog……………… I LOVE YOU !!! LOL
Have you read any books by Eric Jerome Dickey? I’ve read a lot but not all. Sisters and Brothers was the first and it was just a breath of fresh air at the time.
If so, what are some of your favorite reads? The Other Woman, Sleeping with Strangers, Walking with the Enemy, Pleasure. I could not understand/get into Genivieve, A lot of his earlier ones,
Who are some of your favorite Dickey characters? Lola and Mrs. Jones
If you could have dinner with Dickey, what character would you want to know more about? In the Other Woman, I’d like to know what happened to the mistress whose husband committed suicide. What drove her to cheat in the first place?
Dickey’s writing has changed since he first burst on the scene. Currently, he writes in several genres. What’s your favorite genre. I’d say I’ mloving this action/adventure/mystery his got going on lately.
It’s Thanksgiving and you’re inviting Mr. Dickey to dinner…what do you think the affair will be like? (What type of guest will he be? What will you serve for dinner? What type of board or card games will you play? The sky’s the limit…and creativity is encouraged).
Hey we’re both from the South, he’s only 4 hours away in Memphis, so he already know how we do it. LOL. Spades and Taboo are the games of choice. Then we got to put on the blues, pull up the rug, pull out the Crown and we’re great…oh, the games got to be playing in the background the whole time. LOL.
Have you read any books by Eric Jerome Dickey?

Dickey’s writing has changed since he first burst on the scene. Currently, he writes in several genres. What’s your favorite genre.
Drama/Action….those seem to be his strong points. But I enjoy everything he writes. You never know what to expect when reading his work.
It’s Thanksgiving and you’re inviting Mr. Dickey to dinner…what do you think the affair will be like? (What type of guest will he be? What will you serve for dinner? What type of board or card games will you play? The sky’s the limit…and creativity is encouraged).
We will have a sit down dinner, watch the games and dicuss his books. We will play games that all refer back to his many character in his books. We will have all the books there for reference of course. To challenge the mind we will do quizzes to see who remembers or know which characters are carried on from one book to another book.
I’ve liked all his books so far. My favorite is The Other Woman.
I love how he gives you a little glimpse into his writing adventure at the end of each book.
Dinner with Dickey would be fun. He seems so easy going.
I haven’t got this new book yet.

I own so many of EJD’s books and I tried reading one and it just didn’t take off. So many people keep saying you’re holding off why and I simply don’t know. Guess I need to seriously play catch up, huh?
Nardsbaby´s last blog post..Nardsbaby gave 5 stars to: Simply Divine
Geesh.. I hate being late on anything… I have read all of Dickey’s books.
My favorite is Genieve and Chasing Destiny – least favorite Milk in my coffee. Favorite character(s) – Gideon.. and Genieve. Both have a take no prisoner attitude and they make no excuses for who they are.
For me. dickey’s writing has matured soo much through the years. he is being more descriptive in telling the story. Pleasure was graphic and a bit overthe top but I saw a lot fo symbolism that the was trying to point out. don’t know if I would wnat to read anythign else that graphic but it was enjoyable.
WOW something free, I can’t believe it. Enter me please. As far as Dickeys books go, I haven’t read one that I didn’t enjoy, but by far I remember my frist…The Other Women. I would love to read his lastest book.
ms.ladywisdom@gmail.com
I have read all of EDJ books and I have to say that he is the reason at 37 I love to read and have only been ready about 5 years and I am a addict to reading now thanks to EDJ and all of his wonderful books.I would say that I can’t pick a favorite I love them all.
Wow, I would really love to win EDJ new book I read about the contest on the APOOO web site. I have read the first two of this series I was surprised because it was so different from his others but it was really good .
read pleasure, was not too thrilled…but peoples writing changes. If he came on Turkey day…turkey, ham and lasagne…pumpkin cheesecake, apple pie and chocolate cake. Yes there are vegies but I make baked sweet potatoes- not yams and also make sweet potato fries. Thanksgiving is casual and if you want to come in sweats, I do not care- its the fact you are here and enjoying food and having fun, thats all that matters..it actually freaks me out when someone shows up with a tie on so take it off in the car, and unbutton the shirt and loosen the jacket and if you need a tee ask the hubs because we are very casual….
I like Jerome Dickey’s books. He has a unique way of writing. He make his story seem so real. I would love to have a copy of Dying for Revenge. I read Chasing Destiny not to long ago and it was a great read.
I absolutely loved Chasing Destiny, I haven’t read any of the others in the trilogy.
