A girlfriend recently sent me a link to a Web site for a new artist named Maiysha. I like her sound/style. She’s an up-and-coming artist described as having a progressive soul sound (she blends R&B, jazz, hip hop, pop) and a captivating personality. To hear a couple of songs from her upcoming album, CLICK HERE. I don’t have a book to accompany Maiysha this week, but it’s only because I didn’t get my read on. Hope to be back with a tale and tune next week.
In the meantime, share what book(s) you’re reading this week as well as a tune that best represents the book. Provided below is a list of tunes and tales from APOOO family and friends.
A Change is Going to Come by Sam Cooke/Trading Dreams at Midnight by Dianne McKinney-Whetstone
Going to the Chapel/Long Time Coming by Rochelle Aler
Smiling Faces (pretend to be a friend of mine)/Blessed Trinity by Vanessa Griggs
Gold Digger by Kanye West/Gold Diggers by Tracie Howard
She Had It Coming by Mary Monroe/Let’s Do It Again by The Staple Singers
