Jordan Davis, along with his sisters, Celeste and Tiffany, and his baby brother, Danny, are going on a camping trip with their Aunt Desiree. It is the first time that they have gone camping and they are very excited. Alani M’echel Weathers, in The Horrible Huckleberry Hex, takes Danny and readers on an unforgettable adventure.
While in the forest, Jordan and his family come across an unusual Huckleberry tree with the sweetest berries. Jordan later learns that adults cannot eat the berries. You will not believe what happens next to Jordan and his family. I found this story to be very funny. I actually did not want the story to end. At the end of each chapter, the author included very simple recipes for berries that I am sure young readers will find fun to make.
