THE HOT BOX by Zane’s definition” is a baseball drill that can be played with three or more players and two to four bases. The players take turns between being fielders and runners, ultimately trying to tag the rest of the players out. People often practice this drill in real life, but instead of tossing around baseballs, they toss around hearts and emotions.
Best friends, Lydia and Milena are as different as night or day, or so it seems. The story is set in a small town in North Carolina, where everyone seems to know everyone and secrets are hard to keep. Milena is a successful veterinarian who owns her own practice. She has been celibate for the past eight years, due to a broken heart and her distrust of men. When her millionaire ex-fiancee, Jacour, shows up in town, she is determined to let him know that she has not been pining over him all those years. So as a desperate act, she finds someone to pretend to be her beau. Jacour is determined to win back the love of his life, no matter what it takes. Lydia has been living with her boyfriend, Glenn, for the past three-years, in a committed relationship or so he thinks. Lydia has been fooling around with someone that is very close to Glenn. Lydia feels unhappy; she knows she is destined for greatness, but feels stuck right where she is. She is determined to see the world, but what is it going to take for her to get up and leave?
THE HOT BOX by Zane is a story about relationships, love, lust, betrayal, lies and sex. It was a fast read; unfortunately, part of the plot reminded me too much of one that I saw aired as a Lifetime movie. Other than that THE HOT BOX was a pretty good read. Author Zane makes a great point that too many people are out having casual sex not thinking of the repercussions. The lesson in this is if you are having casual sex, make sure that you are protected, because even though you may be monogamous with your partner, it does not necessarily mean they are being monogamous with you. So always be safe and use protection.

Really great read! I couldnt put the book down at all. I think it was crazy that Lydia was cheating on Glenn, with Phil. And I also think it was really crazy that Jacour would try and get Milena back after all that he had done to her. I like that fact that Yosef stepped up to the plate (even with him being homeless and all). He was real genuine like a real man is suppose to be.
This story was real and true life and I think that people need to sto being so playrish all the time. Stick to one partner and be done with it. People need to quit going around and always hurting other people. People dont like to be hurt. If you are just a person that wants to have sex, then you need to meet other people like you. Dont try and lead ppl on because you want to. Either you will get hurt, or the other person. Whichever comes first.
Other than that, cool book! Love u Zane
