Committing her life to her marriage and being the best wife possible did not stop Zaria Ali’s marriage from ending in divorce. The fact that her ex-husband was unfaithful was not painful enough; he had to leave Zaria for a younger woman, the cause of her trying to recapture the youth of the years she feels were wasted in Niobia Bryant’s The Hot Spot.
Since Zaria was now a single woman with college-age twin daughters, she had to provide for them and took on a job as a bartender where she met plenty of men, but the one encounter she did not expect was when she met Kaleb Strong. Younger and handsome, Kaleb made it known that he wanted her, something that would become a tug-of-war for Zaria. The sex was like magic, but Zaria decided she just wanted Kaleb for the extra-curricular activities without trusting her heart to love again.
I enjoyed reading The Hot Spot for the tasteful romantic scenes and the evident mental and emotional struggle of the main character as she dealt with her past and the possibility of a good future. I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance with family issues.
