Shytayjah Johnson aka Tayjah hails from Brooklyn, New York.  Tayah is the type of girl that other girls hate because she is beautiful and fly.  She lives what most would call “hood rich.”  Her brother Shytek is a street pharmacist that makes sure that she has anything and everything she wants.
Tayjah falls for Jason, a drug dealer from Harlem, who is known for being a killer.  When his right hand man is gunned down, and he and Tayjah’s sister are killed, everyone becomes a target.  Jason and Shytek, Tayjah’s brother, decide to take it to the streets to get justice, and it does not matter who gets in the way.  Leaving a trail of dead bodies, they will not stop until they find out who is behind the killings.
Loyal To The Game is a story of betrayal, jeolousy, envy and greed.  There are so many twists and turns that you will be trying to figure out who really is loyal to the game.
Loyal To The Game by Khalilah James unfortunately, is just your typical street-lit book.  Although Ms. James has a good story it just was not developed thoroughly.  It was difficult to read due to the many grammatical and typing errors.  It was confusing to read at times because Ms. James would switch to different characters throughout the book, leaving you wondering which character you were reading about..  The usage of ”LOL,”  “thats what’s up” and “loyal to the game”  was used too much throughout the book. There were some quesitionable occurences that were not believable to me.  To me it just seemed as though there was too much going on in this book considering it is only 180 pages,   leaving me confused and struggling to follow what was going on.
If Ms. James revises the book, and uses a better editor and proofreader, this book has the potential to be rated much higher than the two stars it was given.

  1. I see…

  2. I think loyal to the game was a good book. It kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I do agree with the reviewer if the editing was better loyal to the game could have gotten maybe four stars. Khalilah keep up the good work. Just fix that little problem and you’ll be ok. Im hoping that maybe there’s a part two to loyal to the game I hope so.
