  2. I’ve got a few of those to read too that are on your list-Edgar Sawtelle, The Heretic’s Daughter, Matrimony. I received a few books last week but I can’t remember them all. I’m going to make sure to write down what I receive this week so I know what to write next week.

  3. Hey Darlene and thanks for stopping by…look forward to seeing your list…!

  4. I am “dying” for that DYing for Revenge. I was upset when I saw his tour dates and noticed that he would not be coming to Jacksonville this time around. I got the following books in the mail:

    1. Manuscript to review for a book
    2. Tender Secrets By Anna Christopher
    3. A Gentlemans Offer By Dara Girard
    4. Second Chance Baby by AC Arthur
    5. Gamble on Love By Michelle Monkou

  5. Hey Lashonda…looks like you’re a big romance reader/fan…is this correct?

  6. Last week I received Rhythms of Grace by Marilynn Griffith which comes highly recommended by team member Jennifer, James Baldwin’s Harlem by Herbert Boyd, who moderated the James Baldwin panel at the last HBF and recommended by team member, Priscilla and Passion’s Furies by AlTonya Washington, also recommended by Cilla.

I am waiting on the Diahann Carroll’s review book and a couple others that escapes me at the moment.

  7. That is true. Most of the books I read are romance and Urban lit. I was an African American/Women Studies major at Rutgers so kinda got overburned with those books.. Stuff like Platitudes By Trey Ellis and books by Audrey Lourde. I make it my business to throw history and autobiographies into my reading…..But I am really diverse, one of my favorite books this year was Sweet Georgia Brown and I re-read Their Eyes Were Watching God this year. I also love Alice Walker, Gloria Naylor, Octavia Butler, Tananarive Due and Toni Morrison. I get alot of romance because I have a membership with Harlequin and that is an auto veg thing for me. But I am a romance snob…I am a little picky with those. Other genres I will read pretty much anything as long as it can hold my interest. I must admit, since I found AA writers, I do not give much attention to others these days. There is so much out there by AA writers that I have not seen yet. WOW that was alot.

  8. The Naked Truth: Young, Beautiful and HIV Positive by Marvelyn Brown and it is a must read. I could not put it down.

  9. I’ve received “A Different Kind of Blues” by Gwynne Forster and “Secrets of a Sinner” by Yolonda Tonette Sanders. Which is being added to my ever growing TBR. lol

  10. What a great week you had! I enjoyed Matrimony and I want The Heretic’s Daughter. I look forward to your review of that.
