Forward March by Fon James is the anticipated sequel to Back and Forth and all the players are back with more struggles and triumphs. Faith Walker has moved on with her life after college and betrayal by her love, Gavin. She is now a very successful advertiser. San Francisco has been good for her. However, she is still not over Gavin’s betrayal with her best friend, Chrissy, and the result, their baby. Chrissy realizes her mistake and would love to be forgiven by her friend, but it is very painful to know how much Gavin still loves Faith. Gavin is determined to get Faith back, by any means necessary. Who will he hurt in the process and will it be possible for them all to get along again? The main players and all the back stories will make the reader think and enjoy as they are swept along in the lives of the characters.

Forward March is a wonderful sequel that provides the reader with just enough of the former story to know what happened before. It is also a timely look at how through faith we all have to get over and past situations and that forgiveness is most healing for the forgiver. Ms. James has a wonderful writing voice and immerses the reader in the lives of the characters. I recommend Forward March to all readers, particularly young adults.
