Samantha Skylar was used to problems with her pharmaceutical company, but she had not been prepared for what would follow when she interviewed and hired the handsome Elijah McCray in Denise Jeffries Masquerade.  Elijah was easy on the eyes, enough of a challenge for Samantha to become more than interested, and committed enough to get the job done in more ways than one.

When an illness that was believed to be gone erupted again with Sky Pharmaceuticals seemingly at the center of the potential epidemic, Samantha was unsure if her company would be standing once the investigation ended and the people responsible were apprehended.  In the meantime, her relationship with Elijah grew and the walls she carefully built around her heart to keep her safe began to crumble at his hands.

Will the budding relationship with Elijah prove to be more of a distraction than a promise of love for Samantha?  What, if anything, is Elijah hiding that will destroy any hopes of a relationship with Samantha?  How will their relationship affect the overall success of the business, and will the dangerous, deadly disease reach epidemic proportions before they find the culprit?

I enjoyed the storyline dealing with diseases, how they are spread and what goes into finding effective treatment; however, there was a two-word phrase the author used often throughout the story that was a distraction to the romantic story of the main characters.  I recommend this book to romance readers.
