Offer TWO tips for a successful book club meeting.
TIP #1- What is discussed during the book club meeting stays at the book club meeting.
TIP #2- Be open and have fun.  Everyone has an opinion, embrace them all.

If your group could have dinner with ONE author, who would be your group’s choice and why?
Mocha would enjoy the honor of having dinner with Mr. Carl Weber.  As lovers of the written word, the ladies of Mocha would be interested in knowing what inspires the various storylines as well as the myriad of characters.  Mocha would like to know if any of the stories are based on true-life experiences and whether we will see any of Mr. Weber’s titles on the big screen.

GOTTA RUN…BUT BEFORE WE DEPART:
What makes your book club unique and different from any other book club?
With the perfect blend of educators, trainers, speech-language pathologists, and mothers, the Mocha Reading Group of Nashville, TN has had the opportunity to experience ‘the world through words’ for the past two years.  In our monthly fellowship and book discussions, our emotions have ranged from laughter to tears, anger to sympathy, understanding to ‘why in the world did they do that.’ Some of us have been able to relate to various characters in our selected books, while others of us just pray that those characters never surface in our lives.

Is your group currently accepting membership?  If so, whom should we contact?
Mocha always welcomes new members.  Please feel free to contact us at mochareadinggroup@gmail.com

How can one reach your group on the Web? http://www.freewebs.com/mochareadinggroup/index.htm

APOOO thanks Mocha Reading Group for visiting with us today and we wish you many years of happy reading!

  1. Hello Mocha Reading Group!!! You’ll look like a fun-loving group. I love your tip about embracing each persons opinion, that is very, very important!

O.O.S.A. (Only One keyStroke Away) was selected because we’re an online book club and we’re always ‘Only One keyStroke Away’ from doing something; chatting, emailing, reviewing and or recommending a book. <3 :0

  2. Hey Ladies,

Nice to meet you ladies. Congrats on your feature at APOOO. I see we enjoy some of the same authors, YIPPEEE!!! I had the pleasure of meeting E. Lynn Harris last month here in Oak Park, IL. Wonderful person and writer. And I would to meet Carl Weber as well.

I second that motion as far as you have to take everyones opinion in consideration. There is no other way.

My book club is called Reader’s Paradise and we were featured on APOOO back on Sept. 4th and we came up with the name because for us reading is an escape from the everyday life and likes being on an island or paradise. Keep up the good work ladies and have fun doing it.

  5. Hi Mocha Reading Group,

Motown Review got it’s name because of the Motown Revue. It was just a play on words. We were nameless for about 2 years before we decided on that name.

Our group had dinner with Carl Weber when his first book came out. He was a fun dinner companion and had lots of stories to tell. Me and another member also had dinner with him on another occasion.

We read E.Lynn Harris book in August, We had a good discussion. I think I was the only one who did not really care for the book.

    Happy Reading,
    Jeanette

    Ladies -

    Greeting to each of you!
August 2006 is a long time for a book club and I bless you with more longevity! Congrats on the feature here at APOOO. Your Vegas themed tip is pretty cool – What stays in …………..stays in ………………

Our book club was originally named after a members business but in April of 2007 during a BOM discussion we changed it to Reader’s Paradise. We toyed with Reader’s Playground as well. You see when we think of book we think of escaping, playing in another persons world and jus chillin!!! We needed a name befitting of our vibe so Reader’s Paradise won!

I hope you all had fuin on your day I’m looking forward to see who is featured Monday
