Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is a short meme:
WHAT ARE YOU READING RIGHT NOW? The Smart One and the Pretty One by Claire Zebnik
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING, and WHAT DID YOU THINK OF IT? Book of Lies by Brad Meltzer. Reminded me of the DaVinci Code except it was set in the US. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others who like books based on historical fiction themes…oh yeah and this one was also centered around the maker of ‘is it a bird…is it a plane…It’s SUPERMAN…lol.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL READ NEXT? Sweetsmoke by David Fuller…hope to start it after the Dancing With the Stars this evening (PS…Don’t Forget We’ll Be Here at 8PM EST blogging about DWTS).
WILL YOU READ ANY HOLIDAY-THEMED BOOKS SOON? Nope…not unless it’s a children’s book and I’m reading to a child. I can’t think of any holiday-themed books I want to read. Any recommendations?

Can’t wait to hear your review of Smart One, Pretty One. I’ve been eyeing that book. My oldest sister was always “the pretty one” and the worst was, I secretly knew that she ALSO was “the smart one”!! So I’ll be interested to hear what you have to say!
WHAT ARE YOU READING RIGHT NOW? I’m debating on what I want to read next. I have about 6 books sitting on my desk to choose from.
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING, and WHAT DID YOU THINK OF IT? I just finished reading Orange Mint & Honey. It was great. I loved the growing process the main character went through. I would highly recommend it.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WILL READ NEXT? Not sure. It’s between drama or drama and suspense.
WILL YOU READ ANY HOLIDAY-THEMED BOOKS SOON? There’s an anthology that my aunt has based on a Holiday theme that I might read–just depends on her review of it.

Shelia, Orange Mint and Honey is one of my Top 3 favorite books for this year…I loved it.
Anne, I’m really enjoying the Smart One and the Pretty One…it’s really very entertaining and probably a realistic protrayal of sisters…I have sisters…but they’re either half/step and we didn’t grow up in the same house…and while I get along with all of them we don’t have the share sibling rivalry because we didn’t really grow up together or we never spent longer than three months (summers) together in the same house.
Reading The Death and Life of Gabriel Phillips by actor Stephen Baldwin. Written with Mark Tabb. Very good book. Second Christian fiction book I’ve read in same number of months that takes on the death penalty. Wonder if this is the beginning of a trend…
Recently finished Bachelor Degree by Judith Marks-White. NY-style sassy, chick lit. As much about mother-daughter relationships as about finding her man. Fun, fast read.
Next will either be Pamela Samuels-Young’s Murder on the Down Low or one of the many books I need to read for review purposes. Probably a quickie review book first, then I’ll sink into Pamela’s book.
I’m sure I’ll read at least one holiday themed book. I particularly enjoy holiday anthologies. Nothing like a good Christmas novella.
