What’s a girl to do when everything she has been taught, feels like nothing? Schae Jackson received the message from the cradle that men, money and looks were the path to happiness. As such, a sister maintained her looks, kept her a man, and had money in the bank. So why is that now she is more involved in church and the Word, she isn’t happy? Where is that one man? And, what can the money do when one is lonely and there is always a prettier face? Angelia Vernon Menchan addresses these issues and more in SCHAE’S STORY: A Woman’s Transformation.  Schae, known as the ultimate gold-digger, will show and prove to those around her that through faith and a desire to be and do different, we can all be transformed.

What was your favorite 2008 moment?

Walking along the beach at Key West with Mench,  August 4, celebrating 30 years married. Wonderful and Blessed.

Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity?

A cabin on a very remote beach…I love being near the ocean.

President Obama would like you to be his advisor for… what?

I would have to be his advisor for the empowerment of young women, my agenda would be to ‘Say NO to any and every practice that is not best for you!’

If you had to be the mother of Fantasia or Lil’ Kim, who would you choose and why?

I would choose Fantasia and everyday I would remind her how talented and beautiful she is. I love her spirit and my goal would be to encourage her to love and trust her own spirit.

What is the biggest surprise you ever have had and was it a good one?

When my son told me he and his wife were expecting, they had said they were going to wait for a few years. It was a wonderful, wonderful surprise. I was shopping and when he told me I immediately went to the children’s section.

Of all your favorite foods, which one would you find the most difficult to give up for the rest of your life? Why?

I would be pretty hard to give up bread and butter. I love really good bread with lots of grains and real butter…Yummy!

Which season of the year do you think best describes your personality? Why?

I will have to say fall, I am something of a chamleon and I see myself as the leaves, sometimes green, other times red, and at times a little yellow. And fall has a mellow, peacfulness that some have attributed to me and I graciously accept.

If you could be a contestant on any game show, past or present, which show would you pick? Why?

It would have to be Jeopardy, I love it and can answer many of the questions. It is the game show I watched with my children and my husband and I still watch.

What’s a fad of your teen years that you remember well?

Hip-hugger jeans, I still like the way the fit.

Do you collect anything? If so, what and why?

I do, I collect First Editon books, I love them. I also collect The Three Monkies, Hear No, See No and Speak No Evil, rules to live by and clocks, because time is precious.

Name one thing you’re most looking forward to and why.

Amira Jameela Menchan, my very first grandchild and girl child. God is Good.   Thank You and Bless You!
