Greetings Jacquelin and welcome to APOOO.

In 140 words or less, tell us what makes Jacquelin Thomas unique.

I would say that it’s my way of looking at the world.  I am still able to find beauty and hope in what others may consider an ugly and hopeless world.  I am still able to find God in the most unexpected places, and it is this ability that colors the way that I write my books.  Even when I am way past hope–I still hope.

In 140 words or less, tell readers why Samson would make a great addition to our personal library.   Samson Taylor is a man of God, but most definitely no saint. He is controlled by his lust for beautiful women, a weakness that stirs up trouble, heartache, betrayal, and damaging rumors.  Samson loves God and tries harder than ever to keep his temptations in check. Then he meets Delinda. . . .Beautiful, irresistibly sexy, and married to a famous NBA star, Delinda has Samson head-over-heels in love, and their affair leads to a physical confrontation with Delinda’s husband. Samson begins a journey he could never have anticipated, where his heart is now his guide—not a heart of lust, but of new wisdom and a new kind of seeing.

How did you come up with the plot for Samson?   Samson was inspired by Biblical characters, Samson and Delilah.  I’ve always been interested in their story, and often wondered why Samson couldn’t see what Delilah was up to–how could he not know that she would be his ruin?  It was these questions that prompted me to write this book.

Are you working on another book and, if so, can you share a brief summary with us?   I am working on the sequel to my novel JEZEBEL.  Although Jessie Belle is gone, there is someone lurking in the shadows and this person is more dangerous than Jessie Belle ever was.  Readers are in for a surprise when they finally discover who really pushed Jessie Belle off that balcony.

What has been your favorite 2010 moment?  Turning 50 years old and deciding to pursue a second degree in Psychology.

What are your most overused words or phrases?  Writers write! and another is a quote from Zig Zigler:  “You can have everything you want in life, if you help others get what they want.”  I probably say them at least five times a day.

What is your biggest pet peeve?   I really hate when people try to disguise their real motives for wanting to be a part of my life.  Toxic people in general.

What is your most surprising talent or interest – the one that makes people say “I didn’t know you (did/liked/knew)…”?  I’m a huge sports fan.

What’s one song that people would be surprised to know is on your IPod (or in your music collection)? Whitney Houston’s version of The Star Spangled Banner.

Name five things that make your world go round.  1.  God 2.  My family  3.  Writing   4.  A good football or basketball game, and 5.  A really good book.

Jacquelin thanks for taking time out of your busy schedules and spending a few with APOOO.

  1. Very good interview. Seriously, want to pick up Jezebel just hearing about what the sequel will unfold.

I need to post your most used quotes on my bulletin board. I like them and they’re befitting for me.

  2. Great interview. I agree with Jennifer on the quotes. Sounds like a great read!
