Brief statement about your book–In 140 words, inform readers why they should add your book to their personal library.
First Lady Audrey Graham believes she’s found the perfect woman to become her only son, Minister Stiles Graham’s wife. Sweet, sensitive, kind, and of course a fine Christian girl, Audrey couldn’t ask more of lovely Rena Jackson. But skeletons start to fall from the closet when Audrey and Stiles discover that Rena is secretly in love and committed to a troubled, rebellious, ex-con with a past that rocks the Graham family to the point of no return. My Son’s Wife is more than a love triangle, it’s a time bomb set to explode with twists, turns, entanglements and sinful revelations that only a loving God can make right. My Son’s Wife belongs on the shelves of readers because it is a book that shows the need for unconditional love and acceptance. When we talk about love, we often place limits and conditions on it and equate it to what the other person does or does not do. But true love look deep within the recesses of our souls, sees our hurt and has compassion and a heart of forgiveness. When you read My Son’s Wife you will learn how life and people can be misconstrued, and you will be reminded of just how imperfect we all are, yet we all desire, need and crave for someone to love us just the way we are.

Regarding 2009…
What are your writing goals?
I have already completed one of my goals and that is to finish my manuscript titled Beautiful Ugly. Beautiful Ugly will be released by Kensington/Urban Books August 1, 2009. I will also be featured in an anthology published by Hollygrove Publishing. The anthology is titled Bended Knees and the name of my short story is Against the Grain. I am the founder of Living Your Dreams Now and I will hold my first annual Living Your Dreams Literary Arts Seminar in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Botanic Gardens. I want to complete two additional manuscripts and one nonfiction book in 2009.
What are your reading goals?
My reading goals for 2009 are 1) Read more of the work from my fellow Urban Christian authors as well as other authors who write in the same genre, like Vanessa Griggs, 2) Read more books on editing, grammar and writing techniques; 3) I also love Francis Ray and I want to take time to read more of her books.
Name one thing you would like to do differently this year. In 2009 I want to stress to others and myself the importance of pursuing and living your dreams now! I want to write and complete at least three manuscripts this year while at the same time writing better and smarter.
Name one person (who you don’t normally see) that you would like to see or be in contact with more often this year. Iwould like to be in contact more with my boss, the man that gave me an opportunity at Kensington/Urban Books, Carl Weber. He is a man that is so down to earth. He is full of knowledge and ingenuity. He is the kind of person who is willing to teach and share everything he knows about the literary industry. I used to talk to him quite frequently, however since the company is growing so fast and becoming larger, I haven’t had the opportunity to talk to him or see him lately. He has always been good at imparting knowledge with others. I miss that.
How did you celebrate President-Elect Barack Obama’s inauguration? I was in Salem, Oregon visiting my sister. We started our Inauguration Party at 6:30 a.m. and it lasted until way past midnight. There were about eight to ten people who came over and we ate, toasted to President Obama and the First Family, talked and wept together. It was so beyond comprehension. It all felt so surreal and it still does.
What was the last nice thing you said to someone? Thank you.
What was the last nice thing someone said to you? You know what? I like you.
What’s the nicest thing a reader has ever said to you about your book? I had one reader to write me about My Son’s Wife. She said that it changed her life because it opened her eyes to how self righteous she was about other people. My Son’s Wife revealed her true colors and showed her that she was judgmental and she wanted to change her ways as a child of God.
What’s your favorite saying/quote? My favorite quote is actually a bible verse that comes from the Old Testament book of Habakkuk, chapter 3 verse 19 which says, “The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.”

Thank each of you for your wonderful comments. They touch my heart and my spirit, and to reinforce that I am doing what God has chosen me to do. Each of you are talented in so many ways and endowed with precious gifts that only you can bring forth. Let us join together to help one another. Let us spread love, real, unconditional love, by lending a helping hand to someone else. Love is not all about physical, romantic relationships. Love is inclusive and not exclusive. It seems beyond the physical and seeks to soothe the heart. I love y’all for soothing my heart and for showing me that I am cared about and that I am supported. This month, choose to show love in some small way everyday. I promise, you will never ever ever be the same!
