Notorious by Kiki Swinson is a story about a famous attorney, Yoshi, who is on the run from the Feds, DEA and a drug lord. Once upon a time Yoshi was on top of her game with a million dollar home, name brand clothes, and lavish cars. She was also a junior partner at a law firm. Funny thing is, with all that she had going for her that just did not seem to be enough. Making behind- the- scene deals, and having cops on her payroll many a criminal got off with little or no time. But, when her housekeeper and best friend, end up dead and her life is threatened, Yoshi runs as far away as possible as she tries to sort out what became of her life.
With little to no family left, she stumbles upon her Grandmother Hatti and a couple of cousins that she had not seen in years. Not wanting them to know about her current situation, Yoshi hides out with them and finds herself in more trouble when she witnesses a murder. Could matters get any worse for Yoshi? But, of course, she is also in love with Mario, an entrepreneur who just happens to be the murderer’s brother.
Finding herself in uncompromising positions, Yoshi is left to confide in her family about everything that is going on in her life and prays that when it is all over that she is still alive to make things right. Action-packed and drama-filled Ms. Swinson has done it again. The ending was a bit of a cliff-hanger but I am sure to stay tuned for part two of Yoshi’s dilemmas. I recommend this book to all of Ms. Swinson’s fans.
