Every year, I purchase various tools to keep me organized. As I was looking around my office this morning, I had to ask myself if maybe I tend to go a little overboard.
The following are my standard “must haves” at the start of each calendar year:
- My beloved Crackberry
- A daily planning journal
- A weekly planning journal
- Three monthly calendars (one for my bedroom, one for the kitchen, and one for the office)
- iCal on my Macbook (which I sync with my beloved Crackberry)
- Piles of Moleskine notebooks for personal journaling, reading journals, making lists, and notes/outlines for my writing
- Post It Notes by the truckload
- And last, but not least, a dry erase board
I’m sure you are wondering if I actually use all of this stuff.
Uh- yeah!
I know, I know- hard to believe. But it helps me see things clearly. I have both the big picture and the finer details at my finger tips.
Is my life really that busy?
Yep.
And all of my “stuff” helps me keep track of the ortho appointments, rehearsals, meetings, conference calls, and all the To Do’s.
Overkill?
Maybe.
But it works for me.
How do you get and stay organized?

I do two things. Well now that I think about it it’s really one. I put everything on calender in outlook. I sync that to my blackberry. I don’t like when they put appointments on those little cards because they disappear before I can get out the office. Why because my purse sucks it up.
I do have my notebooks of writing ideas and plotting out stories. But that is it.

I am anally organized, always have been, wish I were less so. But I schedule myself and since I am a nut about keeping appointments, I do. At work everyday before I leave I print out a list of tomorrow’s do list…I do nothing until that list is clean…
The same is true at home, I complete my lists before I start something else…
My gadgets are:
Blackberry
Franklin Covey Planner
And Lists

I have a yearly calendar that is on the wall of my bedroom, I carry a weekly planner and then my cell phone holds all Bday since I have to use it to call people anyway to say Happy Bday. I want a crackberry and my husband is supposed to be buying me one. I keep a notebook in my purse with passwords to online accounts and joy down small things I need to remember, notes from phone calls and books I find interesting that I need to buy. On my desk at work I use index cards to write down books I come across at work. I have a notebook in my car, because you never know. I also keep system notes on an index card binder so formats are easy to get to.

LOL! I had to stop by and say your list looks a lot like my organizational methods. I’m good for putting a calendar in every room, keeping notebooks and journals around me.
I’m a big Google fan, so I use iGoogle, Google Reader, Google Docs and the Google Calendar to manage my online “world” of blogging and keeping up with clients.
Even though I’m a big techie nerd I have not latched onto the Blackberry (Crackberry) yet, but I’m seriously considering getting the a Blackberry Bold or Iphone this year. Not sure which one would be the best.
Havve a blessed weekend!

I don’t. LOL. I too, keep track of appointments in my Blackberry or Crackberry as you call it. I also keep a hard calendar book at the office and in my purse. I have scraps of To Do lists in my purse calendar. I love the picture of the tagged out computer.

I start off every year with the goal to get myself super organize and my a bunch of stuff. But it turns out that it is my BB that I normally have with me all the time and feel lost without.
And of course there is the sticky notes and lists on my desk(s)
