In Keleigh Crigler Hadley’s Preacher’s Kids, Mia Griffin is gripped with many obstacles at once. Her twin sister, Morgan, is receiving hateful letters in school. Morgan is the “good” twin. Mia can not understand who would want to hurt her that way. Mia’s best friend, Brooklyn, reveals a shocking secret that sends Mia into a state of confusion. Mia must turn to God and have him guide her steps. She makes mistakes along the way, but will she return to what her parents have taught her about her faith?
PREACHER’S KIDS has a great message of acceptance, forgiveness and repentance. It is suggested for teens and I would suggest that parents participate in the questions at the end with their children to help them better understand some of the material. I believe Hadley could have developed the story more. I am not sure why it is called Preacher’s Kids. This could happen to anyone. I thought the story was going somewhere else. But, all in all, it is a short read and good for a juvenile read.
