PREY FOR LOVE is the story of Alex “Lex” Walker, who makes it a career as a contract killer. When he goes on assignment to Miami he meets Chaine, a mysterious, beautiful woman and they hit it off quickly. Lex is so enraptured by her beauty and how well they click it is surreal. Although he makes it a point not to get too close to anyone, he finds himself quickly falling for Chaine. The question is will he be able to trust her?
When a problem arises with one of his assignments, he starts to really contemplate getting out of the game. When Nana Helen, the woman who practically raised him, figures out a way he can make a big come- up that will have him set up to retire from the murder-for-hire game, he is unsure. The risk is too great but if pulled off, it could set him for life.
Falling for Chaine was not part of the plan and love threatens to take Lex under. When the predator becomes the prey, he is in the fight for his life and he finds out who really is down for him. Will love conquer all?
PREY FOR LOVE by Leyton Wint was a predictable read for me. Some parts were unbelievable. Although the story kept moving, there were no surprises or twists that I did not see coming. I was going to give this book a 2 star until I got to the very end of the book. There was a note from the author that really put the book more into perspective for me. ” Parts of their story may have been hard to believe, but we all know that astronomical misfortune is often times unbelievable.” This was more of a love story than anything but all in all this was a pretty good read.
