Good morning just stopping through to talk about two books from my list. I finished up Sinsatiable on Saturday evening, and I finished My Son’s Wife as well. If there is anyone out there who wants to talk about these two books let me know @ donan224ever@yahoo.com. I must admit they were both very good reads that were very well written by Shelia E. Lipsey
HEY APOOO and other challengers. I’m already finished with FIVE out of my thirteen reads.
Nina’s Got A Secret- Brian W. Smith—4.5 stars (review posted)
“is a nippy, suspenseful read that offers plenty of laughter, compassion and love. Brian W. Smith has delivered a tragic, heart wrenching tale that is sure to hold your attention from start to finish.”
The Pledge – Chandra Sparks Taylor—5 stars (review to post in Feb.)
“is a prevailing teen novel that doles out priceless lessons on belief, esteem, reputations, mistreatment and sex.”
Dirty Little Angel – Erica Hilton— 4 stars (review posted)
“I believe a lot of readers will enjoy the story.”
Who You Wit? – Paula Chase— 4.5 stars (review to post)
“The fourth installment to the DRB series, despite the serious subject matters, dishes out a witty and bracing observation into the life of teens.”
Designated Hitters – Flex & Crystal Perkins Stell—4.5 stars (review posted)
“Designated Hitters” is earnest and definitely a book worth adding to ‘your to be read’ pile.

I finished one of my books on the challenge. Murder on the Down Low by Pamela Samuels Young. It was a good book, with lots of surprises. This is a book I would recommend to mystery lovers and whodunit lovers.
While I read more than one book weekly, I am only going to use one for the challenge, otherwise I will be finished in 6 weeks and I am going to drag this out for the whole 13 weeks!!
Hey Dona and thanks for stopping by; APOOO is currently reviewing My Son’s Wife so hope to have someone who wants to talk about it soon.
Wow Crystal you’re on a roll…YGG! Good job!
LOL…yes Jnette at the rate you read you could finish this challenge in a month but that’s not all bad…if you read interesting books and tell us about them then of course we’re going to want to read them…and then if we like them…we spread the word…so hopefully folks will be encouraged to pick up some of the books that we’re reading and recommending.
How’s the reading coming along? Read any good books read?
Finished two of my Challenge Books – WHERE THERE’S SMOKE by Terra Little and BENEATH THE BRUISES by Dywane Birch. Both were enjoyable reads. Birch, I’ve read all of his previous work so I knew that would be a good read. First time with Little. Good, solid read. I’m currently reading book three – MY INVISIBLE HUSBAND by Shelia M. Goss. About halfway through that. Enjoying it.
I read two of my challenge books-The Right Mistake by Walter Mosley and again Mr Mosley has written a page turner. Where The Line Bleeds by Jesmyn Ward on the other hand was “ok” but I would read her next book.
Linda,
I also read ‘Where The Line Bleeds.’ I liked it, but didn’t, if that makes any sense. It was slow, but it was so visually perfect. Another issue I had with the book was knowing people live like that now. I know that may sound a little naive on my part. I too would read another one of her books.

Nards…folks seem to feel the way you do about Where the Line Bleeds…I’m going to read it later this month…closer to review time…need to see what everyone is talking about.
Go Linda!
I finished Belle by Beverly Jenkins. Stay tuned for the review.

Well I got off to a slow start. I started reading Where the Line Bleeds, but it didn’t keep my interest so I had to put it down. So now I’m going to have to double up on my readings to make sure it gets done
I read 2 so far and am on book 3
In Blood We Trust – 2stars – I found this book to be too drawn out in dialog.
Seducing the Matchmaker 4stars – I loved the relationship and the chase in this story. Good romance novel
I am now reading The Hioliday Inn

LaShonda, I understand what you mean about In Blood We Trust. But there was one chapter I loved so much because it had so much action. I could see it happening. I’m sure you know which chapter I’m speaking of.

Angelia,
I really enjoyed ‘Murder, Mayhem and A Fine Man.’ I really hope that she will have more books with these characters.
I was thinking about reading Victoria’s teen series. Have you read the others? If so, do you like them?

Hood Life by DeNesha Diamond and Meesha Mink- I enjoyed the final “hood” series, some parts made me blush and say “now that’s just nasty!” LOL, but it was good.
The Darkness-LA. Banks- I’m a VHL fan to the end so of course I enjoyed book 10 of the series and am currently reading book 11- The Shadows.
I just got book 4/5/6 for my oldest daughter. she told me they are great. I guess i better make sure Borders has the next books so I can send them in her college care package. I have told her I want to read them when she is done(and when I am done with my huge TBR pile.)

I’m afraid I have gotten off to a slow start to January and the New Year. I finally finished my first book, Red Light, Green Light by Margaret Johnson-Hodge. Excellent. I am going to try and catch up. Next is Seduced by Moonlight by Janice Sims and either the BOM or The Red Tent.
