Lashanda…what do you think of The Song Yet Sung thus far…it’s a good historical read. I really enjoyed the Bishop’s Daughter! Oh yeah and Good Down South was a good read too. I read a Taste of Reality but for the life of me I don’t remember it…is it one of the Curtis Black reads?

Read The Bishop’s Daughter Friday night. What a hoot! I’m reading Be Strong and Curvaceous, a fun, multicultural YA story. Not sure what will be up next. I’m reading other stuff too so I’ve technically only got 3 books to go, including my current read. But I’ll eventually get to everything on this list.

Dang Pat…I’m jealous…just kidding…but happy for you.
Hey Everyone! I love this challenge, because I have so many reasons to be distracted right now and this is keeping me on point! With that said, I have read I Promise by Adrianne Byrd and I just finished Act Like a Lady,Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey. It was not on my list, but I added it on there because I heard too many good things about it, not to rush out and pick up a copy! I was not disappointed! It was an excellent read about women, men and relationships! Steve gives the 411 on how to get and keep a man, and explains why men do what they do! It was funny too! I recommend this to all the ladies, single, married and in between!
I am on my seventh book and it’s really not doing anything for me – LADIES NIGHT OUT by Electa Rome Parks. I may just pick up another book from my list and come back to this.
I love reading historical fiction. The Song Yet Sung is great. I’m trying not to rush it. The Bishop’s Daughter is a hoot. I read more of this than TSYS so I can give TSYS the attention that I need to give it. I’m going to read A Taste of Reality so I can discuss with a friend of mine. I’ve had this one for a while. She called over the weekend wanting to discuss so I told her I would read it this weekend and give her a call on Sunday. (The things I do for some of my friends. lol) This is not one of the Curtis Black series. I wish I could read like some of the women here. I’m looking forward to reading Going Down South.
Dera,
I just checked out your blog and found out that you are from Oakland, also! We have to talk! We are so close to each other. I’ll try to reach you offloop!
I just completed Taboo by Yoshe while I was in Texas. I started P.I.E.C.E.S A Booster’s Story by Tammy Fournier. It may take me a while to really get in it now that I have started working and looking for a job in Dallas.
Hey Ms. Mary and welcome back. Good luck with your job search in Dallas…
UPDATE:Okay when I last came here I had completed 7 books.I had posted my 8th book as A Hustler’s Worst Nightmare but that has changed.I have completed10 books in all.My 3 recent completed books are:
8th- Money Power Respect- Erick S Gray
9th-Up To No Good-Carl Weber
10th-Project Queen-T.D. Patterson
Nicole what did you think of Up to No Good by Carl Weber.
I love Carl Weber’s books and he’s one of my favorite authors but Up To No Good….I honestly thought that it was just an okay read (3stars)…no more no less.I wish he would write the way that he use to write back when he had Baby Momma Drama and Lookin 4 Luv and Player Haters, etc. But I will still support his books though just because I like his work. I really hope him and Mary B Morrison do a follow up to She Aint The One…now that was a good read!
