I was reading Sag Harbor as well for 2 weeks. On Saturday night I made the decision to stop punishing myself. It’s not on my reading list and my reading time is precious right now. So yesterday I picked up one of the books off my reading list and I’m flying through thr pages. I’m currently reading Home Wrecker by Dwayne S. Joseph. Very quick and entertaining. Haven’t put much though into which book off of my list I will read once I’m done.I’m thinking Slow Burn by Ebony Farashuu. Happy memorial Day and happy reading.
I finished all the books on my list
I also enjoyed Home Wrecker
Well I tried to read Sag Harbor, will save it for another time.
I read the After Wife by Lexi Davis and enjoyed it. #8
I am currently reading Naughty by Rochelle Alers. #9
Up next is The Good Stuff by Michelle Stimpson. #10.
Ms. Mary YGG!
Jnette…hmmm I think I might have to put Sag Harbor down for GOOD….everytime I try I fall asleep…sigh.

Deadly Schemes (Triple Crown Manuscript)
Eastwick Hustle (Triple Crown Manuscripts)
Lashonda Silver´s last blog post..Life has a way of running away from you…..I’m trying to catch it!
Ms. Mary which two books did you substitute?
Well, I am within the required amount of books but I have not read any of my true challenge or lag/carryover/challenge books. (sigh). But I am trying to get through Sag Harbor (I’m just beginning and so far, so good) and get to Dying for Revenge which has been a carryover for several months.

While I have read many more than 13 books during this time period. I have only read 2 books from my challenge list and I am also finished with the third one on the list. Part of my challenge was to read the books on the list I made. Just do not know why I have such a hard time keeping to my reading lists!!!
But my challenge was to read (catch-Up) on the black romance books on my shelf. So this weekend I read “Just About Sex” by Ann Christopher. It was an ok read and it seems I did not like it as much as others who have reviewed it.
Also read “Soul Caress” by Kim Shaw – also another ok book – just did not feel the “tension” in the storyline, but the storyone of the heroine and her blindness was well done. Almost finished “The Foreigner’s Caress” , the next book in the series – is much better.
I picked up Slow Burn out of my pile and realized this has to wait until my history class is over. Too many pages to get done in a day or two. Instead I will read A Special Summer by Victoria Wells. I hope to have that read by the end of the week.

So I’ve had trouble with two books. I’ve been trying to read THE OTHER SIDE OF PARADISE for about a month. Trying to read SAG HARBOR for about two weeks as well. I guess that will make for an interesting discussion! LOL!!! I’m reading DIARY… and that is pretty good. Should be finished with that by tomorrow. I have two books left to read. So I have one week to read FIVE books. Two which I know I will have to put to the side! LOL!!
Here’s my list so far.
1. Lovers & Liars by Teri Denine (4.5/5)
2. Murder on The Down Low by Pamela Samuels Young
3. Scratchies by Frankie Nicole (2)
4. Suicide Diaries by Ebonee Monique (5)
5. The List by Sherri Lewis (4.5)
6. The Other Side Of Paradise Staceyann Chin (2) ***READING***
7. Cinnamon Girl Blues by Wilma Brockington(4)
8. A Heart’s Journey: To Quench a Thirsty Soul by Janice N Adams (4)
9. Sag Harbor by Colson Whitehead ***READING***
10. Red Light Green Light by Margaret Johnson Hodge (2.5)
11. Diary of an Ugly Duckling by Karyn Langhorne ***READING***
12. This Is What I Signed Up For by Jerald Howard (5)
13. My Soul Cries Out by Sherri Lewis
I have two more books to read, if I haven’t forgotten how to count. My next book is “Sag Harbor” by Colson Whitehead. I’ve heard most of you talking about this one. Then, I’m going to add a poetry book titled “Quiet Storm” by Lydia Omolola Okutoro.
tea´s last blog post..A Different Kind of Christmas by Alex Haley
Yasmin,
Those are my thoughts too about Sag Harbor. I’ve read a few pages. It’s not clicking yet. I’ll try again tonight. Then, I might have to change and get another book.
tea´s last blog post..A Different Kind of Christmas by Alex Haley
I don’t care for “Sag Harbor.” Maybe it’s my mood. I’m going to look for a book replacement. sigh
tea´s last blog post..A Different Kind of Christmas by Alex Haley
Thanks for all the Sag Harbor updates! This was on my To Be Purchased list, but I have scratched it off, and will wait on that one! Everybody can’t be wrong! LOL!
Anyway, I’ve read The List by Sherri Lewis and Sinful by Victor McGlothin, both of them off my Challenge list, bringing my total up to 7. I also read The Law of Desire by Gwyneth Bolton, from my romance TBR list!
Up next, I will read Sinful Too by Victor McGlothin, Some Like It Hot by Brenda Jackson, and Bring On The Blessing by Beverly Jenkins!

Okay I don’t know WHY I thought I only had a week left. LOL LAWD we have a whole month. Well I read MY SOUL CRIES OUT last night. WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sherri Lewis is slowly creeping up my list of favorite authors. I have her other book DANCING WITH DESTINY. I’m going to throw that one in for June. Can’t wait! ;o)
Did a crazy amount of reading in last two weeks. Finished Secrets of a Sinner by Yolonda Tonette Sanders. Also read Going Down South by Bonnie Glover, Ulterior Motives by Mark Andrew Olsen, The Baby Bond by Linda Goodnight, Ironic by Pamela Leigh Starr, Risk by Ann Christopher, and Unsigned Hype by Booker T. Mattison. Now reading A New Kind of Bliss by Bettye Griffin.
A number of these were very good, but the one I want to recommend right now is Unsigned Hype, an urban YA novel about character, integrity, and what it means to know God. I would give this to any teenager, churchgoer or not. Very good book.

I have completed the following from my list: Drama in the Church and More Drama in the Church both by Dynah Zale, Playing God by Michelle McKinney Hammond, Single Mama Drama and More Single Mama Drama both by Kayla Perrin and Basketball Jones by E Lynn Harris. I have completed the following that aren’t on my list: The Single Mom’s Little Book of Wisdom by Cassandra Mack, Preacher Man Blues by Jihad, Another Woman’s Husband by Angel Mechelle and the The Million Dollar Divorce by RM Johnson. I had to put That Devil’s No Friend of Mine down. I had a lot going on that kept me from focusing on the book. I’m hoping to pick it up a little later. I’m currently reading Running From Mercy by Terra Little and I must say I’m enjoying it. I plan to start on The Company We Keep next. I will have to substitute The Ties that Bind. I don’t where it has gotten to.
Hey Lashanda and glad to hear you’re enjoying Running From Mercy.
OK, I’ve been reading but not exactly what I put on my list…guess I need to pick things up. This is what I’ve read so far this month (yes, I plan to get at least 2 or more in before June).

Now that the challenge is over for me. I feel like I’ve lost my way. I almost feel lonesome. I’m going to have to regroup and find something really good to read. Hope all of you have a nice day.
