Resurrecting Midnight by Eric Jerome Dickey is about Gideon, an international assassin who sacrifices his life for an old flame. Gideon is struggling to keep his composure as well as complete the mission at hand, but when he is faced with dealing with the Four Horsemen he has to step up or step away from the mission. Resurrecting Midnight was a slow read for me. The action did not jump off until mid way through the book. Along with a slew of dialect that I needed to pull out a dictionary for in order to grasp what was going on. This book took me a little over three weeks to read and I was disappointed that I did not thoroughly enjoy it until the end.
There were some colorful characters in Resurrecting Midnight that made you compare them to actors from The Matrix, such as Medianoche which means midnight hence the title of the book. My favorite character was Senorita Raven she was a fallen soldier who recovered with shrapnel covering her face and hands. There was a lot of killing, bombs blasting and car chases as well that made up for the slow start. Gideon is the main character and it is his job to locate this mysterious package for Scamz, once these briefcases are connected they will uncover… exactly I had no clue.
Gideon is also on the hunt for some extortionists who are trying to black mail him; in the meantime he uncovers his long lost father, and finds out the truth about his mother. With so much going on it was hard for me to fully understand what the storyline was since this book was all over the place.

I truely enjoyed Resurrecting Midnight by Eric Jerome Dickey. It only took me 2 days to read it. If this is the first book that you read about Gideon, then this story would be all over the place since this is the fourth book in a series about him. Each book is a continuation of the previous one and you really get to know who Gideon is in the first one. You also get to know some of the other characters that are a part of Gideon’s life. The briefcases were mentioned several times as to their connections throughout the book. EJD is an excellent writer and I hope you get the chance to read the other books in order. If you get the opportunity to do so, you will not think that this one is all over the place.
