Santuary by Terrence Howard

Okay, Terrence Howard is an excellent actor–heck he is so good at character portrayals that he is an actor that I love to hate when he is in role.  But…hmmm singing?  Now Jamie Foxx…thumbs up.  Will Smith…thumbs up for rapping and acting.  But Howard said he sings like he walks…or was it like he talks…either way neither endeared me to want to hear him.  But…one of my groups passed along the video below and I took a listen.  So far…well I will let you listen first and then I will share my thoughts so as not to prejudice you.  LOL. 1. I kinda of like it! Okay, he’s not the best singer, but he’s not bad. :)

  2. Hey Ty…it sort of grows on you…lol.

  3. He has a husky tone to it. I liked it.

  4. I’m not feeling the video, but I like him and I’m looking forward to the cd.

  5. He definitely shouldn’t quit his day job because he’s a superb actor… but, even though I was skeptical at first, I’m kinda feeling it.

  6. Donielle–I know he grows on you…he’s not the best but he’s not the worst…if he’s doing it as a hobby and not a career…hehe.

  7. The huskiness of his voice makes it sound ok, now is he capable of going out there and selling millions of records…not likely. He needs to stick with Movies.

  8. Hey, I say kudos to the man…Tyra Banks (Shake Your Body, Body) Kim Fields (Dear Michael)Deion Sanders ( Must Be the Money) Shaq (ROTFLMBO! or was it a Genie?) Eddie Murphy ( I don’t care what yah’ll say, Party All the Time was HOT)

But back to Mr. Howard. He has a little something going on – a burnt cross between Anthony Hamilton and Terrance Trent Darby. I think he’ll be very successful with ONE CD; after that, can you say Johnny Kemp, Mr. I Just Got Paid? :-)

  9. HEY Wanda…good observations thanks for sharing…and hmm I didn’t realize all those folks made a single…

  10. I like it more than I thought I would. I do have issues with his back-up singers but other than that, I would listen again…

  11. The brotha isn’t Eric Benet but I can hear his voice rolling during ending movie credits. He’s got something goin’ on and I like it. Wouldn’t buy a cd though…lol

  12. I think it’s pretty. He’s supposed to show casing his guitar playing talent but I like the song, the music is pretty.

  13. Well, hot damn! Big ups to Mr. Howard. I applaud his motivation. I will probably purchase his CD for support more than anything else. I like his choice of acting roles. He does make me frown up at times but then I realize..it’s a sign of a good actor.

  14. Hey Shaye and thanks for stopping by.
