In Jewelene Bank’s SATAN IN HIGH HEELS, Lydia Wells struggles with the deceitful and sinning ways of her pastor husband, David Wells. They are members of Open Arms Fellowship Assembly of God. And there are a lot more than just arms open at this church. Lydia refuses to see people for who they are. She lives in a world of naivete, until a tragic incident forces her to open her eyes and see the truth. Will their marriage withstand David’s sinning past? Will the mystery ever be solved?

Bank’s reveals an underworld of the way that some people live. It is not just Christians, but all people that may lead double lives. At times, I felt like I was reading a bad play. The words just did not flow; conversations were strained; and I never got the feeling that I could relate to these characters or even imagine the scenes. The premise of the book can make for a very interesting story. I just think the writing needs to be a little more relatable.
