In Scandalous Intentions, by Antoine L. McAdoo, readers witness lie after lie and betrayal after betrayal.  Paul and Tammy were high school sweethearts.  Thirteen years later found them struggling to maintain a solid relationship.  He wanted to get his mack on; claiming her furthering her career interfered with their quality time.  Occasionally finding solace in a woman close to Tammy, Paul continued to blame her for the decline of their relationship.  Tammy was unsure of being tied down to one man; especially since she received late night visits from a masked man feeding her spicy, sexual appetite.  When the couple’s secrets erupt, hearts are shattered and lives are twisted.  Or are they?

Kevin was no joke when it came to his fun and his money.  When his funds and merchandise were stolen, he had no qualms about doing what he had to do to recover his goods.  If that meant killing a boat load of people, by all means, it was a done deal.  Though he felt he had an air-tight game, his world began to crumble when he was caught in a compromising situation.  Even though it had him a little shook, he had no doubts about getting through it untouched; just as he had in the past.  Would history repeat itself?

Stan lost his high paying job and so began his decline.  His wife, Lisa, became the dumping ground for all of his frustrations.  With each instance, more distance grew between them until it came to the point where they simply shared bad words and children.  With no one to turn to, Stan turned to the streets for assistance.  In a split second, he went from good guy to bad guy and the choices he made may very well cost him, and his family, their lives.

Scandalous Intentions delivered just what the title prophesied.  When I completed the novel, I shook my head because of the dog-dirty scenarios that happened between the covers.  The author was careful to tie all of the characters together, which I found intriguing but the plot lacked the vigor to make me feel compelled to complete the novel.  The story needs editing.  Words were misused, e.g. din instead of den, and repeated, e.g. aerosolized, often and distracted me quite a bit.  There were also scenes that did nothing to advance the plot, e.g. an in-depth description of what happened on a talk show one of the characters was watching on television.  I did not feel connected to any of the characters.  The ending was unrealistic as people do not usually resolve their issues as described.  With a stronger plot, solid editing, and added character depth, Scandalous Intentions would probably be a better read.
